Job summary

Masimo in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia, is seeking an Accountant to join the on-site finance team. The role covers day-to-day accounting, month-end closing, financial reporting, and statutory activities, with emphasis on cost accounting and management analysis.

You will work under the Finance Manager to support audit preparation, regulatory filings, and monthly reporting packages, while leveraging Excel and ERP tools to ensure accuracy and timely insights for management.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting or accounting experience in manufacturing environment with relevant accounting qualification.
• Self-starter, hands-on and able to work with minimal supervision to get the job done.
• Solid Excel skills and high proficiency in standard job costing and variance analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication; able to manage multiple projects.
• Experience in Intercompany profit and inventory management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day and month-end closing, financial reporting, and statutory activities.
• Provide financial analysis to Management and support cost accounting initiatives.
• Prepare audit documentation and assist with tax agents and regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with Finance Controller to compile monthly/quarterly reporting packages.

The Accountant is responsible for day-to-day, month-end closing, financial reporting, and statutory activities (audits, filings). The role also has a strong emphasis on financial and management cost accounting and providing financial analysis to Management. This position reports to the Finance Manager and is part of the finance team located in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device preferred with hands-on proficiency in standard job costing, variance analysis, product cost tracking, and inventory subledger reconciliation Practical experience managing day-to-day and month end closing activities using financial software and ERP tools. Ability to liaise with and support the Finance Controller in compiling monthly/quarterly reporting packages. Direct involvement in preparing audit documentation, assisting with tax agents, and completing statistical reporting for government and local regulatory bodies.

The essential requirements of the job include: Degree in accounting or accounting experience in manufacturing environment with relevant accounting qualification. Must be a self-starter, a “hands-on” individual who enjoys a challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction. Solid Excel skills are required as well as high proficiency in standard job costing and variance analysis. Excellent attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
