Job summary

r2p in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking a skilled Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate records, reconcile accounts, and handle payments and statutory compliance.

You will work under supervision with Finance and Project Teams, using ERP systems and bookkeeping software; a Bachelor's in accounting and 3–5 years SME experience is preferred; knowledge of Malaysian GAAP and IFRS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience in SME/project-driven environment.
• Knowledge of Malaysian GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience with bookkeeping software and ERP systems.
• CA/CPA/ACCA studies are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, staff advances and supplier payments.
• Prepare customer invoices and reconcile customer statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monthly journals.
• Assist with cash flow forecasts and weekly actuals.
• Coordinate with banks, auditors, tax agents and authorities.
• Support year-end and month-end closing and HQ reporting.
• Submit e-invoices and monitor supplier e-invoices.
• Maintain fixed asset and stock listings.
• Ensure accurate accounting and statutory records.
• Collaborate with Finance and Project Teams.
• Follow Quality Management System processes.

We're currently seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our growing team at r2p in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.The primary responsibility of this role is to support the day-to-day accounting operations in Malaysia, working under supervision to ensure accurate and timely financial records, reconciliations, payments, reporting and statutory compliance.

• Process supplier invoices, staff advances and supplier payments, including supplier statement reconciliations and maintenance of supporting records.
• Preparecustomerinvoices,updatecustomerpayments,reconcile customerstatementsandfollowupoutstandingbalanceswiththeProject Team.
• Perform bank reconciliations,prepare monthly journals, AP/AR ageing andaccount reconciliations,andmaintainintercompany andmonth-end files.
• Assist in updating weekly cash flow actuals and bi-weekly cash flow forecasts.
• Liaisewithbanks,auditors,taxagents,andrelevant authorities,andassistwith statutory reporting andinternal/external audits.
• Supportyear-endclosing,month-endclosingandHQreporting.
• Submit and cross-check e-lnvoices, monitor supplier e-lnvoices and submit self-billed e-lnvoices for staff claims.
• Maintain and update fixed asset and stock listings, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
• Maintainaccurateandcompleteaccountingandstatutoryrecords.
• Work closely withtheFinance and Project Teams and relevant external parties.
• Performotherfinance-relateddutiesassignedbymanagement.
• Ensure that the relevant Quality Management System processes are followed.

What you Bring to the Table

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on accounting andfinance experience ideally within SME and project-drive environment.
• A thorough knowledge of accountingprinciples and procedures,preferably of Malaysian GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience with the usage of bookkeeping and reporting software, and ERP systems.
• CA/CPA/ACCA studies are an advantage.
