Job summary

Dentsu is seeking an Account Manager (3-5 months) in Kuala Lumpur to support the Client Director, coordinating projects from brief through delivery while keeping timelines, budgets, and expectations on track.

You'll collaborate with creative, strategy, media, production and other teams to bring client briefs to life, staying client-focused, highly organized and commercially aware in a fast-paced agency environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an advertising, creative, media, or integrated agency environment.
  • Strong client servicing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience in project management, including managing timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborative and commercially minded, with understanding of how agency capabilities work together.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and adaptable team player, able to contribute from day one in a freelance role.

Responsibilities

  • Support client account delivery: manage day-to-day activities, align priorities, deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Manage client relationships and communication: provide updates, respond to inquiries, manage expectations.
  • Project manage campaigns and communications plans: timelines, budgets, milestones, coordinating internal and external teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams: bring together capabilities to deliver creative solutions.
  • Drive quality and commercial value: improve efficiency, innovation, and margins while maintaining quality.
  • Lead and motivate project teams: offer direction and ensure alignment on deliverables.
  • Maintain accurate project reporting: update timelines, budgets, risks, and status to clients and stakeholders.

What your typical day will look like:

As an Account Manager (3-5 months) at Dentsu, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Client Director in managing day-to-day account delivery and ensuring our clients receive high-quality, creative, and effective solutions. You’ll act as a key link between the client and our internal teams, coordinating projects from brief through to delivery while keeping timelines, budgets, and expectations on track.

Working across Dentsu and the wider network where required, you’ll collaborate with creative, strategy, media, production, and other specialist teams to bring client briefs to life. This role is ideal for someone who is client-focused, highly organised, commercially aware, and comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment, with the ability to take ownership and keep multiple projects moving.

Core responsibilities include:
  • Support client account delivery: Partner closely with the Client Director to manage day-to-day account activities, ensuring client briefs are understood, priorities are aligned, and projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Manage client relationships and communication: Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, responding to queries, managing expectations, and ensuring clients have clear visibility of project progress and deliverables.
  • Project manage campaigns and communications plans: Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, deliverables, and key milestones, coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth and timely execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams: Work collaboratively across Dentsu and the wider network, bringing together the right capabilities and expertise to develop innovative and creative solutions to client briefs.
  • Drive quality and commercial value: Review project plans and ways of working to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, innovation, value, and margin while maintaining the quality of client deliverables.
  • Lead and motivate project teams: Provide clear direction, coordination, and support to internal teams, encouraging collaboration and ensuring everyone is aligned towards delivering high-quality work.
  • Maintain accurate project reporting: Keep clients and internal stakeholders informed with accurate timelines, budgets, project status, risks, and key updates throughout the delivery process.
A bit about you:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an advertising, creative, media, communications, or integrated agency environment, with experience managing client accounts and projects.
  • Strong client servicing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate confidently with clients and internal teams.
  • Proven experience in project management, including managing timelines, budgets, deliverables, priorities, and multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and commercially minded, with a good understanding of how different agency capabilities work together to deliver value and effective solutions for clients.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take ownership, manage competing priorities, and keep projects moving even when timelines are tight.
  • A proactive and adaptable team player who is comfortable working independently, navigating ambiguity, and stepping into a freelance role with the ability to contribute from day one.
