Job summary

Rohas Tecnic Berhad is seeking an Account Executive- Manufacturing Costing to manage and monitor manufacturing costs, prepare product costing, and provide accurate financial information to support management decisions.

You will work with Production, Purchasing, Warehouse and Operations teams to ensure costs are captured, allocated, and reported, and you will analyze variances to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting, costing, or manufacturing finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, BOM, WIP, and overhead allocation.
• Proficient in Excel; ERP/accounting systems experience desirable.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain product standard costs including materials, labor, overhead.
• Calculate and review actual and standard product costs.
• Monitor costing changes due to material prices, labor, processes, and overhead.
• Review BOMs, processes, and costing assumptions for accuracy.
• Maintain costing data in the ERP/accounting system.
• Analyze manufacturing cost variances (standard vs budgeted vs actual).
• Investigate material usage, price, labor, and overhead variances.
• Prepare monthly costing and variance reports for management.
• Monitor inventory valuation and ensure accurate recording.
• Collaborate with Production/Operations to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Job description

The Account Executive- Manufacturing Costing is responsible for managing and monitoring manufacturing costs, preparing product costing, analyzing production variances, and providing accurate financial information to support management decision-making. The role works closely with the Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Operations teams to ensure manufacturing costs are accurately captured, allocated, and reported.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and maintain product standard costs, including raw materials, direct labor, manufacturing overhead, and other production costs.

Calculate and review actual production costs and product costs.

Monitor and update costing based on changes in raw material prices, labor costs, production processes, and overhead expenses.

Review Bills of Materials (BOM), production processes, and costing assumptions for accuracy.

Ensure costing data is properly maintained in the accounting/ERP system.

Analyze manufacturing cost variances between standard, budgeted, and actual costs.

Investigate material usage, purchase price, labor, production efficiency, and overhead variances.

Prepare monthly manufacturing costing and variance reports for management.

Monitor inventory valuation and ensure manufacturing inventory is accurately recorded.

Work with Production and Operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.

About you

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2-5 years of relevant accounting, costing, or manufacturing finance experience.

Good understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, BOM, WIP, inventory valuation, and manufacturing overhead allocation.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/accounting systems is highly desirable.

Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.

Good attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of financial and production data.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with non-finance departments.

Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle month-end closing requirements.
