Job summary

Measurement & Verification Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Accounts Executive to manage the full spectrum of accounting functions with a focus on project-based accounting within our construction operations in Malaysia.

You will handle accounts receivable/payable, treasury, and ensure compliance with GST and FRS. The role requires 3–5 years in construction accounting, proficiency in ERP or MYOB, and the ability to meet tight reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accountancy.
• 3–5 years' experience in construction accounting.
• Familiar with GST regulations and construction progress billing.
• Experience with ERP or MYOB accounting systems.
• Ability to meet tight reporting deadlines and strong project accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Handle full Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Treasury functions.
• Review and compile supplier invoices and subcontractor claims.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue receivables.
• Manage retention receivables and payables.
• Reconcile debtor and creditor statements.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretary.
• Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned by Finance Manager.

Job description

You will play an important role in managing the full spectrum of accounting functions, with a focus on project-based accounting within our construction operations. The role involves financial reporting, project cost monitoring, statutory compliance, and ensuring accurate financial records are maintained in accordance with applicable Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

Handle full Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Treasury functions

Review and compile supplier invoices and subcontractor claims

Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue receivables

Manage retention receivables and payables

Reconcile debtor and creditor statements

Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretary

Any other Ad Hoc tasks assigned by Finance Manager.

About you

Diploma or Degree in Accountancy

Minimum 3–5 years relevant experience in construction accounting

Familiar with GST regulations and Construction progress billing

Experience with accounting systems (e.g., ERP, MYOB)

Ability to work under tight reporting deadlines

Strong understanding of project accounting
