CUSTOVIC SDN BHD is seeking an Account Assistant to join our accounting team on a full-time basis in Port Klang, Selangor. This is a crucial entry-level position within our bookkeeping and small practice accounting operations, designed to support our accounting functions and contribute to the efficient financial management of the organisation. As an Account Assistant, you will play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth running of our day-to-day accounting operations.

What you’ll be doing

• Processing and recording financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and expense reports
• Maintaining and updating general ledger accounts and subsidiary records
• Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies
• Preparing journal entries and posting transactions to the appropriate accounts
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Filing and organising financial documents and records in both physical and digital formats
• Supporting payroll processing and ensuring accurate employee records
• Responding to routine accounting queries and providing administrative support to senior accounting staff
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Ensuring compliance with company accounting policies and procedures

What we’re looking for

• A qualification in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field (or currently studying towards such a qualification)
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
• The ability to work independently whilst remaining collaborative within a team environment
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to clarify information professionally
• Reliability and commitment to meeting deadlines
• Previous experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role is advantageous but not essential
