Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualification in accounting, bookkeeping or finance (Certificate or Diploma).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in records.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good communication and professional demeanour.
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (preferred).
• Familiarity with Malaysian tax and accounting regulations (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Record and process financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

We are seeking an Account Assistant to join the finance team at HOWER ELECTRIC SDN. BHD. in Ipoh, Perak. This is a full-time position based at our Ipoh office. As an Account Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of our organisation. This position is essential to ensuring our financial processes run smoothly and our accounts remain compliant with all regulatory requirements.

What you'll be doing

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Recording and processing financial transactions including invoices, receipts, and payments
• Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts
• Preparing and processing monthly bank reconciliations
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Data entry and maintenance of financial records in accounting software systems
• Supporting the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Filing and organising financial documents in compliance with record-keeping standards
• Responding to enquiries regarding financial transactions
• Supporting senior accounting staff with ad hoc accounting duties as required
