Job summary

Contego - Global Talent Solutions in Kuala Lumpur seeks a 3D Retail Design Lead to provide Malaysia-based design leadership and increase creative capacity across catalogue, retail design, POSM, and sample approvals. You will partner with APAC teams to review briefs, advise feasibility, and deliver high-quality outputs aligned with brand expectations and local market needs.

Qualifications

• Strong retail design, shopper marketing, POSM or brand activation experience.
• Translate brand identity into practical retail environments and assets.
• End-to-end design development from concept through to working files and implementation guidance.
• Balance brand consistency, aesthetics, commercial feasibility and production practicality.
• Work with cross-functional teams including creative directors, PMs, client service, suppliers and market teams.
• Able to manage high-volume, fast-turnaround creative demand.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day creative delivery for the client’s Malaysia workstream, with approvals through APAC Creative Director.
• Support catalogue workstream, sample approvals, design updates and related POSM design requirements.
• Translate briefs into practical creative direction and production-ready guidance across retail activation, POSM, premiums and branded merchandise.
• Deliver and oversee outputs across APAC design capabilities, including basic concept design, visual design and packaging visualization.
• Review briefs with PM and client-service partners, advising on feasibility, lead times, dependencies and requirements.
• Help manage high-volume and fast-turnaround creative demand, escalating capacity risks early.
• Maintain consistency with brand governance while ensuring outputs stay relevant for Malaysia market and APAC workflows.
• Collaborate with APAC stakeholders to ensure smooth handover of files and design rationale.
• Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to standardize outputs.
• Mentor other designers within the workstream.
