Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks a skilled 3D scanning specialist to transform physical samples into accurate 3D/2D data and support prototype printing.

The role requires proficiency in SolidWorks, 3D scanning technologies, and metrology, with a minimum of three years in a related field. Ongoing data updates and collaboration with Engineers are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in 3D design or related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in 3D modelling.
• Expert in SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of polygon mesh topology and dimensional metrology.
• Familiar with 3D scanners and related software.
• Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform 3D scanning from actual samples and prototype 3D printing.
• Convert verbal or written instructions into 3D/2D data.
• Gather data from objects to 3D/2D data using suitable techniques.
• Revise and update 3D data/ drawings reflecting design changes with Engineers.
• Assist in generating SCR (Sample Confirmation Report) using 3D Scan software.
• Document information during design and approvals per ISO 9001.
• Manage assigned tasks promptly as per supervisor and company expectations.
• Maintain and upgrade devices/software in the 3D scanning/printing room.
• Work with minimal supervision and maintain urgency.

Responsible for 3D scanning from actual samples and prototype 3D printing activities. Taking in consideration verbal or written instructions and implementing into 3D & 2D data. Responsible for data gathering from actual / physical objects to 3D & 2D data using conventional or technological techniques which provide tolerance suit for each design, such as 3D scanning and 3D printing. Responsible for revision and updating existing 3D data / Drawings reflecting design changes and coordinating closely with Engineers to ensure accuracy of data being used.

Key responsibilities

• Perform 3D scanning from actual samples and prototype 3D printing activities
• Implement verbal or written instructions into 3D & 2D data
• Gather data from actual / physical objects to 3D & 2D data using conventional or technological techniques
• Revise and update existing 3D data / Drawings reflecting design changes and coordinate with Engineers
• Assist on generating the SCR (Sample Confirmation Report) for Project / Development components using 3D Scan software
• Document every information during design stage and approval of design on each project and ensure files are up-to-date according to ISO 9001 standards
• Manage assigned tasks in a timely manner based on superior and company expectations
• Maintain and upgrade devices / software in the 3D Scan and 3D printing room and maintain stock limit for 3D printer filament
• Work with minimal supervision and maintain a sense of urgency

About you

• Tertiary level education or a Degree in 3D design (preferably Mechanical engineering) or related technical field
• At least 3 years experience in related field with strong understanding of 3D modelling
• Expert in SolidWorks on any version
• Strong understanding of polygon mesh topology, surface reconstruction and dimensional metrology
• Familiar with structured light, laser or handheld 3D scanners
• Familiar with GOM 3D scan, Geomatic software and 3D printer
• Familiar with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is an advantage
