Job summary

PPG Industries seeks a Team Lead to manage warehouse and shipping operations in Mexico, ensuring inventory accuracy, timely deliveries, safety and quality compliance, and continuous improvement through leadership and resource management.

You will report to the Warehouse Coordinator and coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Customer Service, Transportation and Supply Chain teams to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• More than 2 years of experience in warehouse and shipping operations management.
• Knowledge of warehouse indicators and inventory control.
• Experience with ERP systems Oracle or SAP and managing warehouses with 5,000+ SKUs.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA, 5S and continuous improvement.
• Intermediate English and advanced Excel skills.
• On-site work requirement (LI-Onsite).

Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse and shipping activities while meeting safety, quality, service and productivity standards.
• Oversee warehouse associates and material handlers, assign tasks and monitor performance.
• Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliations.
• Ensure ERP/WMS transactions are recorded and escalate discrepancies.
• Track KPIs including productivity, service levels and delivery performance.
• Provide daily updates and performance reports to the Warehouse Coordinator.
• Coordinate training, attendance, shift coverage, and employee development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in efficiency, safety and warehouse organization.

As a Team Lead , you will lead warehouse and shipping operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, deliveries, compliance with safety and quality standards, and continuous improvement through team and resource management.

You will report to Warehouse Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse and shipping activities, ensuring compliance with established safety, quality, service, and productivity standards.
• Oversee warehouse associates and material handlers, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure operational goals are met.
• Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and adherence to inventory management procedures.
• Ensure transactions are recorded within ERP/WMS systems and elevate discrepancies when identified.
• Track operational Indicators including productivity, service levels, inventory accuracy, delivery performance, and material losses.
• Provide daily operational updates and performance reports to the Warehouse Coordinator.
• You will ensure compliance with company policies, quality requirements, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Coordinate workforce activities, including training, attendance tracking, shift coverage, and employee development plans.
• Support investigations and activities related to inventory variances, customer complaints, shipping errors, and operational disruptions.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Quality, Customer Service, Transportation, and Supply Chain teams to maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement plans focused on efficiency, safety, cost reduction, and warehouse organization.
• Identify operational risks and recommend corrective actions to the Warehouse Coordinator.
• Help implement corrective and preventive actions resulting from audits, quality findings, or customer concerns.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and across warehouse and shipping functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• More than 2 years of experience in warehouse and shipping operations management and management.
• Knowledge of warehouse and logistics Indicators, and inventory control and management.
• Experience with ERP systems Oracle or SAP, and managing warehouses with more than 5,000 SKUs.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA), 5S methodologies, and continuous improvement principles.
• Intermediate English proficiency and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
