ZF Group in Mexico is seeking a VAVE Engineer to join the Portfolio management team. You will develop and implement profitability improvement projects for launches and post-SOP programs for multiple customers, focusing on total product cost reductions through design, process, and resourcing changes.

You will lead cross-functional workshops, evaluate ideas for feasibility, financial benefit, and risk, and prepare business cases for management approvals.

Formación

• Must have at least 3 years in Automotive with VAVE exposure.
• Experience leading cost-reduction projects and business cases.
• Strong communication with diverse stakeholders in an international environment.

Responsabilidades

• Generate cost savings ideas through design, process, and resourcing changes.
• Lead cross-functional evaluation of ideas for feasibility and financial benefit.
• Collect inputs, prepare business cases, and obtain management approvals.
• Track progress of multiple VAVE projects and propose mitigations.
• Generate regular management-level reports.

Position Summary

Technical position part of Portfolio management, responsible for the development & implementation of profitability improvement projects for launches and post-SOP programs for multiple customers. Key focus areas are the generation, evaluation and implementation of cost reduction ideas impacting the total product cost on electromechanical products through design, process and resourcing changes. Highly visible role through interaction on all levels and with all functions.

What can you look forward as a VAVE Engineer:

• Generate cost savings ideas (e.g: design changes, process changes, supplier resourcing, …) by leading various internal and external activities (e.g supplier/in-house workshops, benchmarking activities, etc…)
• Drive with the cross-functional team the evaluation of cost reduction ideas in terms of technical feasibility, financial benefit, quality impact, risks and customer acceptance
• Collect inputs from various stakeholders, prepare business case and presentations to support business decisions and obtain Management approvals
• Track detailed status, monitor development & implementation progress for multiple VAVE projects, propose mitigation plans in case of deviations/roadblocks; escalat as required
• Generate reports at various Management level

Your profile as a VAVE Engineer:

• Min 3 years of experience in the Automotive industry, preferably in VAVE
• Technical background, Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering and Management
• Experience in cost reduction projects
• Technical and financial competencies including manufacturing processes, product design, product cost analysis and business case.
• Strong moderation and communication skills and ability to interact with various stakeholders (Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Sales, Quality, Portfolio, suppliers,…)
• Global thinking, results oriented, advanced organizational and analytical skills
• Ability and willingness to work under pressure
• Fluent in English (in spoken and written) for working in an international environment.
• Experience with suppliers and/or customers is appreciated
• Project Management skills are appreciated
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Driving license, ability and willingness to travel (5%)
