Expeditors is seeking a seasoned logistics leader to oversee the TRANSCON department, drive customer shipments, and ensure high service standards. You will lead staff development, monitor key shipment metrics, and implement process improvements across the branch.

The role emphasizes adherence to company policies, regulatory compliance, and teamwork within Expeditors’ culture of integrity and excellence across international trade.

Formación

• 1-2 years of related experience in logistics or transportation management.
• Knowledge of global logistics practices and supply chain processes.
• Hazardous materials handling certification preferred.
• Familiarity with Expeditors' policies and procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee TRANSCON department operations and staff development.
• Monitor shipment reports and ensure data accuracy in the operational system.
• Lead process improvements and sustain compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Interact with customers to arrange TRANSCON shipments and meet service standards.
• Develop team, conduct staff appraisals, and drive training aligned with company culture.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

People:

• Develop department personnel. Show them a career, not just a job.
• Review and conduct staff appraisals timely, and at a minimum once per year per employee.
• Develop solid #2 to run operations and assists in retention.
• Ensure and assist supervisors and key staff with goal setting and monitoring.
• Conduct regular interviews with potential new personnel.
• Plan for and hold effective fortnightly department meetings with team.
• Review department goals and business plan periodically with staff to ensure by-in and accountability.
• Be responsible for the training and development of TRANSCON staff within the branch
• Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year, including as needed management/leadership training

Operations:

• Oversee the management of the branch TRANSCON department.
• Proactively monitor various shipment reports such as
  • Shipments Per Desk (SPD)
  • Revenue Per Desk (RPD)
  • Expense Per Desk (EPD)
  • Revenue Per Shipment (RPS)
  • Revenue to Expense ratio
• Ensure department is using all system tools to their greatest advantage based on your department size and organization. (e.g. using TRANSCON workflow, export and import database, and other system generated reports to manage by exception)
• Be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements into your branch.
• Be involved and suggest system/process improvements.
• Set the tone of this environment within your branch.
• Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
• Track and Trace TRANSCON Files and reporting
• Interact with our customers in arranging their TRANSCON shipments, meeting customer service standards.
• Meet compliance at all times to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations.
• Understand department process flow, and looking for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity
• Ensure all customers standard operating procedures in place and updated in the DLSOPs
• Meet KPI standards in accordance with the Company’s procedures
• Network communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)
• Escalation of problems to Management when necessary
• Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity and pride.

• Oversee the management of the branch TRANSCON department
• Actively develop business for department through active involvement in sales and retention process

• Build and maintaining strong relationships with service providers and customers
• Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year, including as needed management/leadership training

Qualifications

Knowledge:

• Expeditors' Company Policies and Procedures
• Basic local regulatory knowledge for compliance
• Global Logistics Industry knowledge
• Hazardous materials certification (preferred)
• 1-2 years related Experience
