Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Customs Compliance Specialist to manage daily import and export operations for the plant, focusing on accurate documentation and tariff classification. You will coordinate with the Customs Agent, validate filings, and ensure timely clearance while supporting internal departments with classification insights.

The role requires at least 2 years in a related field, strong communication and multitasking abilities, and proficiency in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily Import/Export operations for the plant with a focus on Customs Compliance.
• Coordinate with Customs Agent, validate documents, and reconcile data.
• Prepare and validate customs declarations and tariff classifications.
• Provide information for tariff classification and permits; act as liaison between agent and plant.
• Monitor clearance process from loading to arrival; manage Annex 24 system.
• Review expense accounts and KPIs with Customs Agents.

What you will do:

Execute daily Import and Export operations for the assigned plant with a focus on Customs Compliance

How you will do it:

• Control the arrival of materials to the warehouse of the Customs Agent abroad
• Validation of commercial documents
• Reconciliation of arrived components vs. documents
• Preparation of customs documents
• Provide technical information obtained from other departments for the correct tariff classification of goods and/or request special import permits
• Point of contact between the Customs Agent and the service plant
• Follow-up of the customs clearance process, from loading, crossing, and arrival
• Validation of import and export declarations, as well as their reconciliation and upload into the Annex 24 system
• Management of the customs system (Annex 24)
• KPIs with Customs Agents
• Review of Expense Accounts
