Thermo Fisher Scientific in Tijuana, Mexico, is seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineering Technician to maintain and optimize manufacturing processes, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet quality standards and safety requirements.

The role emphasizes working with molds and precision tools, following GMP/ISO guidelines, and supporting Lean initiatives while adapting to shifts and demanding

Formación

• Execute repair work on tools per engineering and quality specs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on molds.
• Operate conventional machinery (lathe, mill, grinding, hand tools).
• Maintain tools for shop work orders.
• Keep area clean, safe, orderly.
• Read technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment docs.
• Know GMP, ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
• Use precision measurement tools and test equipment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance documentation.
• Work collaboratively and respond to emergencies across shifts.
• Stand and lift up to 50 lbs; work in varying environmental conditions.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
• English proficiency desirable.

DESCRIPTION: Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Sr Manufacturing Engineering Technician, where you'll contribute to maintaining and optimizing manufacturing processes that enable scientific discoveries. This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in supporting manufacturing operations through equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and process improvement initiatives. You'll work with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, implement engineering changes, and contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Execute the repair work in the tools (molds, pipette cutting system), which will fulfill the specifications of engineering and quality control.
• Executes preventive maintenance to the molds.
• Uses the conventional machenery (lathe, mill, grinding and hands tools).
• Maintains the appropriate and necessary tools for the realization of the work orders of the shop.
• Maintains the area clean, safe and orderly conditions.
• Technical/Trade school certification in relevant discipline acceptable
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment documentation
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements in manufacturing environments
• Expertise in using precision measurement tools and test equipment
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Ability to work different shifts and respond to emergency calls as needed
• Physical requirements include standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in various environmental conditions
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) preferred
• Proficiency in English desirable
