About the role

The Team Leader - Open Cut leads a team in the quality service of bulk explosive delivery to customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner at all times, working closely with Bench Assistants and MMU Operators on site, Shotfirers and Site Supervisor and managing all tasks associated with loading, tying and firing blasts.

Key AccountabilitiesReports all Unusual Incidents and Accidents immediatelyParticipates in daily Toolbox talks and Monthly Safety MeetingsUndertakes all and any necessary training for Operations, SHEC and site specific requirementsMaintains all personal training against the Orica training Matrix for your roleEnsures all emergency equipment and First Aid kits are completeAssists in the management of Audit actionsEnsures minimum damage to the environment through waste minimisation and controlEnsures raw materials and dangerous goods are used, handled and stored according to requirements of the SDS.Maintains required House Keeping standardsNotifies Orica site management of any variations in product specification, appearance or performanceAssists the client in achieving targets and maintaining productionMaintains professional relationships within Orica and with customersPerforms other ancillary duties including relief at other locations, consistent with level of competence as reasonably instructed by the supervisor

What you will bring

With tertiary or technical qualification - up to 2 years experience post qualification.
Without formal qualifications - up to 10 years of administrative experience, or allocation of work to operators.
