Maersk seeks a Tax Supervisor in Mexico to lead a team of tax specialists, supervise assignments, and drive process improvements across indirect tax functions. The role involves analytical tasks, stakeholder engagement, and coordinating with global teams to support compliance and reporting.

The ideal candidate has 6–7 years post-qualification tax experience, SAP familiarity, strong communication skills, and English at B2 level.

As a Tax Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in our success by getting introduced to analytical assignments and stakeholder engagement, you will be leading a team of tax specialists and supervising their assignments to contribute with process improvements. You will also have the opportunity to co-relate process to business.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and analyze indirect tax returns and various tax support workpapers ensuring tax obligations are up to date in various regions.
• Performs data collection and high-level processing.
• Analyses financial data and risks and effectively communicate it with key stakeholders.
• Analyses tax laws and regulations and prepare technical reports on their impact on the organization’s operations.
• Supervise responses to complex information requests.
• Prepares correspondence and provides high-quality client facing reports to management, tax authorities, auditors, and external consultants.
• Delivers on concrete defined tasks and provides support to others.
• Supports and coordinate team on ad hoc projects.

We are looking for

• 1-2 years of experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor.
• Bachelor’s Degree or similar with experience as below:
• 6 to 7 years of post-qualification experience in one or more of the following fields, in their order of relevance:
• Preparation/ review of Indirect Tax compliance process.
• Providing data/ information for international tax compliance and tax audit support.
• Process management and improvement.
• Experience gained in: Shared services or Centre of excellence of large MNCs.
• A combination of big 4 advisory firms with one or more of the above.
• Knowledge about Financial & Accounting systems and processes
• Experience with ERP systems (preferred SAP) is required and awareness of or experience with tax compliance & reporting technologies and effective process & control operation.
• Willingness to learn new applications and explore smart ways of working.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with different levels of stakeholder, both internal and external.
• B2 English level (Required)
• Detail orientated, proven commitment to high quality delivery and continuous improvement.
• Flexible, able to work to deadlines and to prioritize effectively.
• Team player and should be a team-oriented person.
