Quanex in Juarez, MX is seeking a Tactical Trade Leader to supervise customs personnel across three maquiladoras and to oversee day-to-day import/export execution. You will ensure accurate documentation and smooth flow of shipments, while maintaining compliance with Mexican trade regulations.

The role sits between compliance and plant operations, serving as the primary escalation point for operations and customs brokers.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years of customs experience in maquiladora operations.
• Proficiency with IMMEX software and Mexican trade regulations.
• Strong MS Office skills and meticulous documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise customs personnel at 3 Mexico plants.
• Create uniform and efficient processes across the 3 plants.
• Import and Export Documentation flow and accuracy.
• Coordinate capital equipment inventory.
• Coordinate temporary and permanent import and export operations.
• Annual US Customs Reconciliation.
• Receive certificates of origin and mill certificates for materials and equipment.
• Assist in tariff classification of materials and equipment for import.
• Update IMMEX software with required information for new items.
• Coordinate and consult with the compliance team in US and Canada.

The Mexico Tactical Trade Leader sits between compliance and plant operations. This position overseas the customs clerks and manages day-to-day execution across all 3 maquiladoras. This position serves as a first escalation point for operations and customs brokers.

• Supervise customs personnel at 3 Mexico plants
• Create uniform and efficient processes across the 3 plants
• Import and Export Documentation flow and accuracy
• Coordination of capital equipment inventory
• Coordination of temporary and permanent import and export operations
• Annual US Customs Reconciliation
• Receive certificates of origin and mill certificates for raw materials, machinery and equipment for the application of tax benefits
• Assist in assignment of tariff classification of materials and equipment to be imported
• Updating IMMEX software with required information for new items
• Coordinate and consult with compliance team in US and Canada

Knowledge / Skill / Abilities

• Proficient management of the IMMEX customs software
• Strong working knowledge of Mexican foreign trade regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions with high attention to detail.

Qualifications / Prior Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience within the maquiladora industry in customs.

Work Environment / Other Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
