is seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Design Engineer to join a fully remote team. You will conceptualize, design, and analyze complex electrical power systems for diverse industries on projects driven globally, with operations within Mexico. Key responsibilities include system design, power studies, equipment specification, and construction documentation, all while collaborating with international teams using virtual tools.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with Power Systems specialization.
• 5+ years of design and analysis experience in electrical power systems.
• Proficiency in ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of IEEE, IEC, NOM codes and standards.
• Experience with CAD software for electrical drawings.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for remote collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop electrical power distribution systems and networks.
• Perform power system studies: load flow, short circuit, transient stability, protection coordination.
• Specify transformers, switchgear, generators, and protective relays.
• Create detailed drawings: single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts.
• Ensure designs comply with IEEE, IEC, NOM and relevant codes.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other disciplines virtually.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and operation.
• Review vendor submittals and technical proposals.
• Contribute to technical proposals and cost estimates.
• Stay updated on new technologies in power systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical power distribution systems, substations, and transmission/distribution networks.
• Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit analysis, transient stability, and protection coordination using specialized software.
• Specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, and protective relays.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and construction documents (e.g., single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts).
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international electrical codes, standards, and best practices (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NOM).
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines through virtual communication tools.
• Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and operational phases of projects.
• Review vendor submittals and technical proposals for electrical equipment.
• Contribute to the development of technical proposals and cost estimates for new projects.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and advancements in power system engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the design and analysis of electrical power systems.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software such as ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IEEE, IEC, NOM).
• Experience with CAD software for electrical drawings.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with international teams and clients.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively.
• Master’s degree in Power Systems is a plus.
