Aptiv in Reynosa, Mexico is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to act as the key link between Aptiv and suppliers, ensuring top quality, performance, and compliance for automotive electronic components and manufacturing processes.

You will drive supplier development, lead problem‑solving activities, support product launches, and work with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Customer Quality teams to achieve world‑class quality standards.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Mechatronics or related field.
  • 3–5 years in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Quality Assurance, or Automotive industry.
  • Experience with automotive electronic products/components/assemblies preferred.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA/DFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, RCA, and CAPA.
  • Experience leading supplier investigations, 8D, corrective actions, and escalation management.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and supplier management skills.
  • Advanced English communication, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Excel and SPC concepts.
  • Knowledge of SMT, PCB assembly, injection molding, stamping, machining, die casting, connectors, or wire harnesses is valued.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Certifications such as VDA 6.3, IATF 16949 Internal Auditor, or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are plus.

Responsabilidades

  • Monitor and improve supplier quality performance via metrics, audits, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.
  • Lead supplier development to enhance process capability, product quality, and operational excellence.
  • Manage supplier‑related quality issues including containment, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation.
  • Drive problem‑solving using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, CAPA methodologies.
  • Support manufacturing operations by resolving supplier‑related concerns and minimizing impact.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with customer, regulatory, and automotive quality requirements (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Program Management, and Customer Quality teams.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and escalation management.
  • Promote Lean and continuous improvement across the supply base.

Your work will directly contribute to reducing defects, improving supplier performance, minimizing production disruptions, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities
  • Monitor and improve supplier quality performance through key metrics, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead supplier development efforts to enhance process capability, product quality, and operational excellence.
  • Manage supplier‑related quality issues, including containment actions, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action implementation.
  • Drive problem‑solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and CAPA processes.
  • Support manufacturing operations by resolving supplier‑related concerns and minimizing production impact.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with customer, regulatory, and automotive quality requirements, including IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Program Management, and Customer Quality teams to support business objectives and successful product launches.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and escalation management activities when required.
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices throughout the supply base.
Your Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Quality Assurance, or the Automotive Industry.
  • Experience working with automotive electronic products, components, or assemblies is preferred.
  • Understanding of automotive quality methodologies and tools, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, and CAPA.
  • Experience leading supplier quality investigations, 8D reports, corrective actions, and supplier escalation management.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and supplier management skills.
  • Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and statistical process control concepts.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as SMT, PCB assembly, injection molding, stamping, machining, die casting, connectors, or wire harnesses is highly valued.
