QST Solutions, based in Mexicali, seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead containment, corrective actions, and supplier audits within Global Supplier Quality. You will drive improvements using 8D, AIAG/IATF 16949 requirements and PPAP approvals for new components and changes.

The role partners with senior management to enhance performance, mentor PF1/PF2 SQEs, and ensure compliance across the supply chain in the maquiladora manufacturing setting.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
• Graduate degree preferred.
• Problem-solving using the 8D methodology.
• Automotive industry core tools: APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and FMEA.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• IATF 16949 standard.
• Lean Manufacturing: Standardized Work, 5S, Poka-Yoke, Kaizen, etc.
• Six Sigma methodology (DMAIC) and PDCA.
• Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Supplier Quality.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the maquiladora/manufacturing industry.

Responsabilidades

• Manage containment actions for nonconforming materials received from raw material suppliers and coordinate disposition.
• Generate and follow up on corrective actions with raw material suppliers through 8D methodology.
• Communicate issues and supplier performance internally and externally.
• Work with senior supplier management to improve quality performance.
• Execute AIAG, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements throughout the supply chain.
• Execute and follow up on the annual supplier audit plan, including VDA and Run at Rate audits.
• Request, follow up on, review, and approve PPAPs for new components, changes, and validations.
• Lead APQP, Engineering Change, and improvement projects with suppliers.
• Provide mentoring to PF1- and PF2-level SQEs.

What are we looking for?

The Supplier Quality Engineer works within the Global Supplier Quality group and reports to the Site Manager. This position represents the company with raw material (RM) suppliers to ensure that components meet established specifications. The role is responsible for leading improvements in supplier performance, executing problem-solving activities, and approving components.

Activities of the position

• Manage containment actions for nonconforming materials received from raw material suppliers and coordinate the disposition of such materials.
• Generate and follow up on corrective actions with raw material suppliers through effective closure, using the 8D methodology.
• Communicate internally and externally (corporate, customers, and suppliers) regarding issues and/or performance of raw material suppliers.
• Work directly with senior supplier management to improve Quality performance.
• Execute AIAG, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements throughout the supply chain.
• Execute and follow up on the annual supplier audit plan, including VDA and Run at Rate audits, with raw material suppliers.
• Request, follow up on, review, and approve PPAPs for new components, changes, and annual raw material validations.
• Lead APQP, Engineering Change, and improvement projects with component suppliers.
• Provide mentoring to PF1- and PF2-level SQEs to support the development of their activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Graduate degree preferred.
• Problem-solving using the 8D methodology.
