Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer in Ciénega de Flores, Nuevo León. The role focuses on auditing suppliers, driving APQP/PPAP processes, and improving production readiness while ensuring high-quality performance.

The candidate will collaborate with engineering to enforce process controls, monitor manufacturing processes, and support CPPD and NPI initiatives. Onsite work is required with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality / Manufacturing / Engineering.
• Advanced English-speaking level is required.
• APQP knowledge and PPAP experience.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess suppliers via on-site quality audits and drive Lean/BIQ/APQP improvements.
• Review APQP documentation (FMEA, Control Plans, Gage R&R) and support CPPD/NPI.
• Generate supplier quality reports and guide reduction of defect rates.
• Coordinate with engineering on supplier-related design changes and approvals.
