A multinational consumer goods company in Mexico is looking for a Start Up Leader for Line Operations. This role involves overseeing the start-up of production lines, managing team performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of experience in operations and project management, along with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and budget management.

Formación

Start Up Leader - Line Operations
Introduction

Responsible for the start-up of the production line(s) under his/her charge, as well as establishing line priorities, implementing technology transfer, and ensuring the operation of the production line(s) during and after start-up.

About the Role
  • Drives the overall action plan to ensure a successful start-up.
  • Serves as the interface for operational elements with functions such as Product Development, Quality Assurance Management (IBPM), Markets, etc.
  • Provides input for the factory project plan.
  • Verifies run-in with the Unit Manager and is responsible for compliance with RI curves.
  • Ensures the execution of risk mitigation actions and FMEA prior to the ICC.
  • Selects/hires and trains new personnel for new line startups.
What You Will Do
  • Ensures that safety, quality, and performance issues are adequately addressed.
  • Drives the elimination of losses during startup.
  • Coordinates the overall production system validation plan.
  • If any of the validation steps do not meet the success criteria, has the authority to stop the process until those criteria are met.
  • Establishes, monitors, and improves processes according to statistical control methodologies through the organization's defined quality tools.
  • Is responsible for training and guiding operational teams to improve their performance in accordance with defined procedures and standards.
  • Provides resources and is responsible for managing the mini-business unit (MBU) budget for the execution of activities, based on cost analysis (losses, materials, spare parts, etc.).
  • Defines and maintains process configurations and standards (Manufacturing Excellence program tools and facilitates the application of standards/systems).
  • Is responsible for disseminating and updating the KPIs (objectives) defined by the company.
  • Leads the activities of his or her team in their technological area as an expert in the processes and technologies of the production lines.
  • Is ultimately responsible for continuously optimizing production processes sustainably through root cause analysis and standardization to improve results.
  • Manages staff under his or her supervision. Ensures the performance review process is timely and appropriate, as well as providing positive and timely feedback to staff under his or her supervision.
Who You Are

Experience: Minimum 5 years in operations, maintenance, project management, and leadership (initiation, planning, execution, control, and completion) for machine startup.

Knowledge:

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Lean Manufacturing (5S, TPM, Kaizen, etc.), BPM.
  • Analytics tool management.
  • Resource management (budget, losses, materials, spare parts, etc.).
  • ERP management (SAP, Kronos).
  • Budget management, KPI implementation and monitoring.
  • Personnel management (unionized and employees). Implementation, execution, and monitoring of safety, quality, production, and cost reduction methods and standards.
  • Language: fluent English
