Amazon is seeking a Shift Manager to lead a large, diverse team across an operational site, ensuring safety, productivity and excellent customer service. You will manage daily tasks, drive process improvements, and work with engineers and other managers to standardize shift procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma, Spanish fluency, and 1+ years of leadership in retail or distribution. You will work a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends, with opportunities to develop

Formación

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Rotating, flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; 40 hours per week with overtime as needed.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience in retail, distribution or similar environment.
  • Fluent in Spanish (read, write, speak).

Key job responsibilities

A day in the life

You’ll work shifts and be based at one of our operational sites. Your main focus will be to maintain safety standards within your team and across your site. You’ll also monitor and maintain process efficiency. Your days will always include prioritizing routine team management and daily operational tasks, alongside other tasks like individual escalations, process improvement work and wide-scale operational contingency planning.

Being a key part of the operations team involves working with colleagues in other teams and external partners to make sure we stay on track to meet our customer demands and targets. This will involve analyzing data and performance metrics with leaders in your business area, as well as discussing the operational pros and cons of technical improvements with engineers.

About the team

Subsameday, or SSD, handles ‘first and last mile’ delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilize creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers’ delivery experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.

Our team is people-focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the night. We focus mostly on operations, with 24/7 shifts in most of our locations.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Work a rotating, flexible schedule, including nights, overnights, weekends and holidays. Able to work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
  • 1+ years of leadership experience in a retail, distribution or similar environment experience
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in Spanish
Preferred Qualifications
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English
