Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker Inc. in Monterrey, MX is seeking a Test Design Engineer to join our on-site MTC Monterrey team. You will lead the Rig & Fixture Team and develop power tool test fixtures with emphasis on PLC, LabVIEW, and electrical design.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years minimum experience with electrical and mechanical automation equipment operation or maintenance.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Strong background in PLC programming, LabVIEW programming and electrical/electronic design.
• Good communication skills preferred.
• College degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or related field.
• Ability to use standard electrical and mechanical measuring instruments.
• Ability to follow verbal directions and written procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead Rig & Fixture Team and coordinate development of test fixtures.
• Develop advanced electric–mechanical test fixtures for power tool testing.
• Design control systems for robots, focusing on PLC and LabVIEW integration.
• Troubleshoot and maintain FSTC reliability test equipment.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate advanced test fixture systems.
• Prepare and modify technical procedures and documentation.

The Job:

As a Test Design Engineer, you’ll be part of our MTC Monterrey team working as an on-site employee.

You’ll get to:

• Lead Rig & Fixture Team
• Communicate technical topics/ projects on the global basis
• Must be flexible and adapt to changing departmental priorities.
• Initial assignment is development of power tool test fixtures & equipment.
• Follow scrap Process
• Follow Materials & storage
• Highly motivated individual provides test support to the new product development & development to value projects.
• Develop advanced electric-mechanical test fixture/equipment for various power tool testing, focus on Electrical and Electronic development, HMI and PLC programming, Labview programming
• Design the control system for robot, focus on PLC and robot interface design and programming.
• To be responsible for trouble shooting and maintenance for FSTC reliability test equipment
• Execute routine calibration for all FSTC equipment/ meters, focus on electric parameters
• Communicate technical topics/ projects on the global basis
• Prepare and modify other documents as required to support the Test Systems Group and Main Test Lab.
• Must be flexible and adapt to changing departmental priorities.
• Initial assignment is development of power tool test fixtures & equipment.
• Plans, schedules and coordinates advanced test fixture systems, also focus on electrical fixtures, rigs development and has strong capability to harmonize the PLC and Labview programming and electric
• Writes and upgrades technical procedures maintained in the technical database at B&D intranet.
• Windchill skills
• BOM interpretation
• Drawing interpretation
• Maintain and follow correct metrics (Security, Quality, Delivery, Cost & Production)

• Ability to work with verbal directions and written procedures.
