AlertMedia is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to scale our AI-first development model. You will design and extend AI agents and skills, improve local dev environments, and help speed CI feedback. The role emphasizes practical AI tooling, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering reliable, scalable software.

You bring 6–8 years of hands-on software engineering and strong experience with Docker, AWS, and Postgres. English proficiency is required and the role is remote from Mexico.

As one of the fastest growing software companies in the country, we’re looking for a Sr Software Engineer with strong AI development tool experience to help accelerate an AI-first development model that's already well underway.

This role focuses on designing and extending the agents, skills, and automation that take on engineering work — and on steadily widening what they can own, from planning and implementation through code review and CI. Testing is part of that. So is clearing the friction that caps how much we can hand off: slow local environments, long feedback loops, manual steps between them.

This is a hands-on engineering role with broad impact. You'll work across teams, partnering directly with engineers to sharpen how they work with agents and to roll out changes that stick.

• You are a software engineer first—you like writing code and making systems better
• You actively use AI tools in your daily development work and look for ways to push them further
• You keep up with new AI capabilities and enjoy figuring out which ones are worth adopting
• You care about how other engineers work and want to make their jobs easier
• You’re comfortable working across teams and incorporating feedback, even when it’s conflicting
• You’re opinionated but practical—you optimize for real improvement, not theoretical perfection
• You’re willing to challenge existing workflows when they’re slowing people down

• Collaborate with engineers across teams to shape and adopt AI-assisted workflows

What you bring to the role:

• Daily hands-on experience with agentic coding tools (we use Codex and Claude predominantly)
• Experience extending AI tooling rather than only consuming it — custom agents, skills, prompts, MCP servers, etc
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on coding experience(6-8 years)
• Experience building systems or tools other engineers rely on
• Experience with Docker, local dev environments, and CI systems
• Familiarity with automated testing and test performance issues
• AWS and Postgres experience required
• The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment
• Outstanding communication skills and ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a fast-paced challenging environment
• English proficiency (written and oral) is required

Location: This position is remote based in Mexico. Must reside in Mexico and we have an office in Mexico City (Reforma area), if you're interested in going into the office. Not required, but optional.
