Vertiv in Mexico is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (P3) to drive operational excellence by designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes. You will lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior engineers, with 4–8 years of experience.

You will partner with R&D and design teams to drive manufacturability, manage NPI projects, implement lean and Six Sigma methods, and ensure compliance with quality standards and safety protocols across production sites.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 4–8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience in process improvement, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead efforts to analyze and improve manufacturing processes focusing on cost, cycle time, quality, and throughput.
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing initiatives and Six Sigma methods.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and automation to enhance production.
  • Serve as manufacturing lead for NPI projects from design to production.
  • Collaborate with R&D to influence manufacturability and scalability of designs.
  • Develop and validate manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and SOPs.
  • Manage complex projects including transfers, upgrades, and layout changes.
  • Define scope, timelines, budgets, and resources; ensure timely delivery.
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of process documentation and specs.
  • Support audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians; train on new processes and safety.
  • Lead structured problem solving using 8D, Fishbone, and FMEA.

Responsibilities
  • Lead efforts to analyze and improve manufacturing processes, focusing on cost reduction, cycle time, quality enhancement, and throughput.
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing initiatives and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and automation solutions to enhance production capabilities.
  • Serve as the manufacturing lead for NPI projects, ensuring seamless transition from design to production.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design engineering to influence product designs for manufacturability and scalability.
  • Develop and validate manufacturing processes for new products, including tooling, equipment, and work instructions.
  • Manage complex manufacturing projects, including process transfers, equipment upgrades, and layout changes.
  • Define project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements; ensure timely execution and delivery.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of process documentation, SOPs, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, ISO requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Provide training on new processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Act as a technical resource for troubleshooting and problem-solving across production teams.
  • Lead structured problem-solving efforts using tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and FMEA.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address recurring issues and improve process reliability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4–8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in a high-volume or complex production environment.
  • Proven experience in process improvement, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ETC.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • The role is primarily based in a manufacturing facility, requiring regular site visits and interaction with production teams.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
  • The role involves extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.
  • Occasional standing or walking may be required during meetings, presentations, or site visits.
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with controlled temperature and lighting.
Time Travel Required
  • Travel to different office or plants locations, client sites, or conferences may be necessary.
