More about the role

As the Sr. Manager, IMMEX Compliance, you’ll be responsible for leading continuous optimization of Signify’s IMMEX programs – including IMMEX strategy, governance, advocacy, standardization, and digitization efforts across Signify’s Mexican manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure seamless compliance with IMMEX, IVA-IEPS, Annex 24/31, PROSEC, OEA, and other applicable customs and tax regulations across multiple sites in Mexico
  • Mentor and develop a team of high-performing customs and regulatory compliance professionals
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement of customs software solutions, processes, and personnel to build a world-class IMMEX compliance program across multiple locations in Mexico
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional and site teams to weave regulatory compliance into operational efficiencies as a competitive advantage
  • Maintain regular communication with corporate management to align maquiladora compliance with strategic goals as well as deliver training/continuous education to stakeholders
  • Lead internal and external audits/inquiries related to IMMEX and related licenses and ensure the company maintains a positive compliance profile with government agencies (e.g. SAT, ANAM, SE, AGACE)
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes affecting customs operations via participation and advocacy in trade, industry, and government groups (e.g. INDEX, CANAME, etc.)
  • Travel within Mexico to Signify’s manufacturing sites as needed
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in International Trade, Supply Chain, Law, Business, or related discipline
  • 8+ years’ experience in foreign trade operations with IMMEX, VAT, OEA certifications and Annex 24 systems
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams
  • Innate ability to influence cross-functional groups to drive execution of maquiladora compliance strategies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience with trade management systems such as SAP GTS, e2Open, or similar systems as well as strong computer and data analytics skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, PowerBI)
  • Demonstrated exercise of sound judgment in uncertain situations
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification a plus
