Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
- Provide technical support for the hardware and mechanical design teams to optimize the gas meter designs, ensuring the designs are cost‑effective while meeting the requirements for accuracy and pressure loss over the working life.
- Provide technical support for the management of the meter calibration process, including operational support of the calibration standards and equipment, and maintain procedures for the calibration processes while supporting equipment selection choices.
- Provide technical support to the software development teams to ensure the meter's software is fully matched to the physical operation of the gas meter, ensuring that the software supports calibration and meets the accuracy requirements.
- Represent the company with the statutory authorities with regards to the required standards of gas meters for US and international markets.
- Support for customer queries or complaints regarding meter measurement performance and standards.
- Support the gas meter manufacturing process management to optimize the meter calibration and testing.
- Be responsible for continuous improvement to processes and procedures related to meter calibration.
- Responsible for the adherence of Landis+Gyr's End User IT Security policy and Baseline IT Security policy, and report any IT‑related security incidents as outlined in the appropriate IT Security policy.

Person Specification / Qualifications
- Required: Engineering degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or similar.
- Minimum 5 years experience in electro‑mechanical development.
- Experience in natural gas or similar flow measurement (preferred).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to take ownership of all project aspects while demonstrating good decision‑making skills.
- A confident person who can easily make technical presentations to other teams and departments within the company.
