The Sr. Director of Operations is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of Mammotome Global Operations, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs. Span of control includes global Supply Chain and Logistics, Manufacturing, Contract Manufacturing, Supplier Management, Facilities/Safety, PPV/VAVE, Global Service Operations and Global Distribution. This position reports to the VP Operations & Supply Chain for Leica Biosystems and Mammotome and is part of the Mammotome Leadership team and will be onsite at the Mammotome manufacturing plant in Tijuana, Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the Mammotome manufacturing and operations functions.
• Collaborates with the senior leadership and President of the OpCo to develop and meet company financial goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
• Creates and monitors Ops-level Policy Deployment (top priority strategic initiatives) by identifying plant operations breakthroughs, implementing change through comprehensive action plans and aligning resources to achieve targeted KPIs across the operations, including Safety, On-Time Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity (Labor and Material).
• Establishes and maintains global supply chain capabilities and relationships needed to ensure effective Inventory Planning/Management, Warehousing, Product Distribution/3PL Management on a global basis.
• Establishes and maintains internal manufacturing capabilities and external contract manufacturing relationships to produce and/or source products that meet all quality, service and cost requirements.
• Responsible for strategic relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers, procurement, and cost reduction of both direct and indirect materials.
• Establishes a culture of integrity and innovation and leads through the Danaher Business System (DBS), implementing Lean, visual management and daily management across all reporting functions while driving a culture of continuous improvement to drive root cause analysis and optimize operations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree, or equivalent relevant experience; MA/MS preferred.
• APICS or ISM certification desired, or equivalent Danaher-specific experience.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience; strong emphasis on continuous improvement, measuring results and problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to gain followership and drive results; ability to assess talent, inspire high-performing individuals, develop associates, and make strategic personnel changes when necessary.
• Ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously across numerous time zones, while ensuring quality and delivery targets are met.

Travel & Physical/Environment

• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Preferred Experience

• Diagnostics and/or Medical Device Industry experience; understanding regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience leading teams and driving change in a global matrixed organization.
