Grupo Modelo in Aguascalientes is seeking a proactive Spot Buyer to join the Procurement team. This role manages day-to-day purchasing of non‑strategic goods and services, ensuring compliance with SLAs and internal guidelines, while delivering efficient sourcing and cost optimization.

You will execute local purchase requisitions, validate requests, identify suppliers, and support contract creation, onboarding, and supplier management, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain or related field.
• Advanced English required (spoken and written).
• Experience with procurement tools and supplier management preferred.

Responsabilidades

Job Title: Spot Buyer

Location: Aguascalientes

Language Requirement: English – Advanced (C1/C2)

1. Role Purpose

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Spot Buyer to join our Procurement team. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day purchasing of non‑strategic goods and services, ensuring alignment with internal guidelines, service‑level agreements (SLAs), and sourcing best practices. The Spot Buyer plays a key role in delivering efficient and compliant procurement solutions that support business continuity and cost optimization.

2. Key Responsibilities

Purchasing Execution:

• Process local purchase requisitions in accordance with defined category strategies.
• Validate purchase requests for accuracy and determine the appropriate buying channel.
• Collaborate with end users to clarify missing specifications or requirements for one‑time (free‑text) purchases.

Sourcing Activities:

• Identify suitable suppliers for specific needs or categories.
• Utilize internal sourcing tools to initiate requests for quotation (RFQs) or e‑auctions in coordination with the e‑Sourcing team.
• Analyze quotations, negotiate terms, select suppliers, and support contract creation as needed.
• Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders (POs) efficiently.

Support & Compliance:

• Assist with supplier onboarding, data analysis, and contract management within assigned categories.
• Provide guided buying support to users, promoting adherence to procurement policies and educating on the correct buying channels.
• Resolve purchase‑related issues and elevate complex matters to the appropriate stakeholders.

3. Scope of the Role

• Manage the end‑to‑end process of non‑strategic purchasing.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and SLAs.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to meet procurement needs promptly and effectively.

5. Qualifications & Competencies

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.

Languages:

• English: Advanced (C1/C2 level required – verbal and written)

Technical & Functional Skills:

• Strong knowledge of procurement tools and systems (e.g., SAP, SRM).
• Proficient in e‑sourcing platforms and Microsoft Excel.
• Solid analytical and negotiation skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous hands‑on experience in procurement or category management.
• Exposure to regional or global sourcing environments is an advantage.
