Ford México, located in Naucalpan, seeks a SW Integration Test Engineer to ensure code quality and end-to-end validation of automotive features. The role focuses on automated and manual testing across SIL/HIL and vehicle environments, with significant time on test benches and automation.

The candidate designs robust test frameworks, conducts root-cause analyses, and collaborates with CoreAutomation to resolve framework issues. 4 days on site at GTBC Ford México is expected.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and managing all test assets, including test plans, test cases, and both automated and manual test scripts.
  • Proficient in Python or C++ with strong object-oriented design.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience with automated test frameworks (Pytest, Behave) and test automation.
  • Experience with embedded vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and diagnostic tools (CANoe/CANalyzer).

Responsabilidades

  • Define and implement end-to-end validation and verification strategy for assigned features, covering manual and automated testing.
  • Spend significant time on feature automation and test benches (SIL/HIL) to meet coverage.
  • Execute automated and manual tests across SIL, HIL, and vehicle environments.
  • Develop and maintain robust, reliable test code and test cases.
  • Analyze results, debug test code, and perform root-cause analysis of failures.
  • Lead refactoring of test cases and framework to prevent brittleness.

Descripción del empleo

The SW Integration Test Engineer isdirectly responsiblefor the technical integrity, code quality, and successful L3 validation and verification of assigned automotive features. The engineer is expected to spenda significant portionof their time on feature automation & test benches (SIL/HIL) to ensure L3 test coverage meets feature requirements and end-user needs.

  • Defines and implements the end-to-endvalidation &verification strategyfor assigned features,covering both manual and automated testing approachesto be executed across all vehicle programs supported, as well as thetest boundariesdefinition(with the Test Interface engineer), required test environment configurations, anddefinition ofcritical test cases necessary to achieve comprehensive testcoverage.
  • 4 days on site in GTBC Ford México (Naucalpan, México)
  • Reviews feature requirements and vehicle architecture documentation to design comprehensive L3 test casesto coverall feature requirementsincludingedge cases and system-level integration.
  • Executes automated and manual tests across the full spectrum of environments, including SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and Vehicle.
  • Develops and implements automated test cases as robust, reliable, and maintainable code.
  • Analyzes results, debugs test code, and performs root cause analysis when testsfail toidentifywhether the defectresidesin the software or the test environment.
  • Leads the refactoring of test cases & test code and the enhancement of test case design to ensure the test suiteremainsrobust and does not become 'brittle' or outdated.
  • Manage the feature-specific test suite& testcasesattributesforeffectivetestmanagementandcreation oftest runsrequiredto support feature testing across relevant vehicle programs and defined test milestones.
  • Validatessoftware fixes through targeted re-testing and regression execution for critical or complex feature sets.
  • Actively feeds requirements back to theCoreAutomation toolsorganizationandmaintainsa deep understanding of the automation framework's inner workings to troubleshoot setup, configuration, and library compatibility issues.
Minimum Requirements:

We are seeking candidates who meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • 3+ years of experience developing and managing all test assets, including test plans, test cases, and both automated and manual test scripts.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such asPythonorC++.
  • Strong experience with version control systems (e.g.,Git), including branching and merging strategies.
  • Experience integrating automated tests intoCI/CD pipelines(e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintainingautomated test frameworks.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (preferablyPytest,Behave).
  • Experience with electrical schematics for vehicle components and systems and the electrical architectures of distributed systems.
  • Experience in bench testing of distributed electrical systems (Electrical System Engineering), including functional integration, test execution, measurement and instrumentation, and incident reporting.
  • Experience with embedded controller networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and the use of diagnostic and communication tools to troubleshoot distributed vehicle systems (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer).

We will give preference to candidates who possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Experience withHardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)simulation and testing platforms (e.g., dSPACE, Vector VT System, NI VeriStand).
  • Experience inperformance testingof embedded systems, including measuring CPU load, memory usage, boot time, and network bus utilization.
  • Familiarity with softwaresecurity testing principlesand techniques (e.g., fuzz testing CAN/Ethernet traffic, SAST/DAST).
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Control Modules (ECUs) and Automotive Embedded Systems.
  • Proficiency with testing and defect management tools, such asJIRAandTestRail.
  • Deep experience with analyzing system logs and performing root cause analysis.
  • Effective Communication:Clear and concise spoken and written communication skills, critical for daily interaction with users across the SE&V organization.
  • Interpersonal Skills:Proven ability to work with cross-functional development and validation teams, demonstrating strong networking, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
  • Problem Solving:A high tolerance for ambiguity and a proven ability to solve complex engineering problems.
