About The Role

We are seeking a talented and collaborative Software Engineer II – Python to join our Shadow Health development team in Mexico City. This position performs moderately difficult research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. You will contribute to building and enhancing web services and applications that support healthcare education through simulation-based learning.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Tech Lead to solve moderate complexity software engineering problems.
  • Build new features and improve existing ones for our Learning Management System.
  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
  • Review code from other engineers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Complete moderately complex bug fixes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
  • Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in development languages including but not limited to: Python, FastAPI, LangGraph, SQL, Docker, AWS, GitHub Actions, UNIX.
  • Proficiency with data manipulation languages and understanding of data modeling principles.
  • Ability to work with complex data models.
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Knowledge of test-driven development and industry best practices such as code coverage.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
