Valeo is seeking a Software Engineer in Querétaro to contribute to feature development for Radar/LiDAR systems, covering the software lifecycle from requirements to testing. You will work on vision-based components, ensure architecture conformance, and maintain code in line with MISRA and Valeo guidelines.

Applicants should have 5+ years in embedded automotive software, experience with Radar/LiDAR, and proficiency in C/C++, UML, and modern debugging/tools.

Formación

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Engineering / Embedded System / Robotics or closely-related field.
• 5+ years of work experience in embedded software engineering within automotive industry.
• Background working with Radar / LiDAR products.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and integrate vision-based components on Radar / LiDAR processors and integrate reusable software components.
• Maintain software detailed design, unit test specs, and test reports for the component under responsibility.
• Follow Valeo coding guidelines for source code development and perform MISRA-compliant checks.
• Update and manage artifacts in Configuration Management and CI workflows (e.g., Gerrit, delta KW/UT).
• Provide status updates in daily project meetings and ensure deliverables meet KPIs and quality metrics.
• Participate in peer reviews and support technical reviews/audits.
• Maintain production software, analyze change requests, implement changes, and support testing/validation and release.
• Travel as needed to customer sites and Valeo internal sites.

The Software Engineer shall contribute in feature development for the Radar / LiDAR system or software component, focusing on the software V Cycle process including Software Requirements Analysis, Software Architecture/Design, Software Implementation and support Software Testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor / Master degree in Computer Engineering / Embedded System / Robotics or closely-related field.
• 5+ years of work experience in the field of embedded software engineering, in automotive industry.
• Background working with Radar / LiDAR products.

Responsibilities

• Focus on development of vision-based application components on Radar / LiDAR processors; integration of internally re-used standard software components and adaptation/integration of 3rd party software components.
• Develops and maintains the software detailed design, Sw Unit test specification and test report of all verification of the Sw Component in his responsibility in alignment with Software architecture.
• Develops source code in accordance with Valeo coding guidelines.
• Performs Sw Unit static code analysis and ensures compliance of developed source code according to MISRA rules.
• Develops Sw Unit test specification & performs Sw Unit test and generates Sw Unit test report.
• Check in/commit of artifacts to Configuration Management database on a regular base (e.g, submitting his code using CI, Gerrit, and run delta KW, delta UT for the changes.
• Update CoreALM ticket & Activities on daily basis with current status.
• Provides update about the status of own work in regular project meetings.
• Ensures quality of all owned deliverables (e.g maintaining the objectives of all process KPIs and Sw Code quality metrics for the software component in his ownership).
• Ensures development work is fulfilling the Software Requirements Specification, and Software Architecture.
• Implements fixes and changes required by problem reports and change requests.
• Performs and participates in peer reviews for software, design and document (e.g. requirement and test specifications).
• Support in technical reviews / audits of the project in the respective role.
• Maintenance of current production software (Analyze customer change request, Implement changes, Support Test/Validation, and Release).
• Travel as needed to customer & Valeo internal site(s).

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Software development using Embedded C & C++.
• Experience with application development on Radar / LiDAR processors.
• Good understanding of ARM architecture,
• Understanding of video formats and streaming protocols.
• Familiarity with communication protocols and analysis using logic analyzers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Enterprise Architect or similar UML tool experience for software design.
• Experience with debugger tools like Lauterbach, ISystem.
• Experience with GIT or similar version control tools.
• Understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
• Ability to work in globally distributed project team.
• Familiarity with Automotive SPICE, CMM, or other software development process model is a plus.
• Experience with functional safety or cyber security is a plus.
