GE Aerospace in Saltillo, Mexico seeks a Site Quality Leader to head the site quality organization, ensuring product and process compliance and driving continuous improvement for SQDC performance. You will lead quality staff and collaborate with operations, engineering, supply chain and suppliers to maintain and improve the site quality management system.

The role requires 5+ years in quality leadership, strong analytical and communication skills, and knowledge of aviation quality systems.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management and leadership, preferably in manufacturing or engineering functions.
  • Experience with quality management systems, audits, and driving process improvements.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional leadership capabilities.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and develop the quality team with coaching and performance management.
  • Own site-level quality strategy, KPIs, and operating rhythms aligned with customer needs.
  • Manage and improve the quality management system to ensure regulatory and internal compliance (AS9100/ISO9001).
  • Develop quality metrics and monitor indicators like scrap, rework, escapes, FPY, and cost of poor quality.
  • Lead data-driven process improvements and drive continuous quality improvements at site and company level.
  • Foster a culture of problem solving, standardization, and accountability across the site.
  • Oversee nonconforming material, containment actions, and support audits and regulatory findings.

Job Description Summary

The Site Quality Leader is responsible for leading the site quality organization to ensure product and process compliance, drive continuous improvement, and deliver strong Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) performance. The role provides direct leadership to quality staff, partners cross-functionally with operations, engineering, supply chain, and suppliers, and maintains and improves the site quality management system and overall product conformity.

Job Description Summary

The Site Quality Leader is responsible for leading the site quality organization to ensure product and process compliance, drive continuous improvement, and deliver strong Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) performance. The role provides direct leadership to quality staff, partners cross-functionally with operations, engineering, supply chain, and suppliers, and maintains and improves the site quality management system and overall product conformity.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the quality team, including priority setting, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Own site-level quality strategy, KPIs, and operating rhythms aligned with business and customer requirements.
  • Administer and improve the quality management system, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, customer specifications, and internal requirements (e.g., AS9100, ISO9001).
  • Develop and implement quality metrics and monitor performance indicators such as scrap, rework, escapes, first pass yield, and cost of poor quality, to drive manufacturing improvements and business results.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using data analytics, proven technologies, and established methods, and drive quality continuous improvement activities at site and company level (methods, tools, roadmap, deployment)
  • Champion a culture of FLIGHT DECK continuous improvement, problem solving, and accountability across the site, including standardization of quality practices, control plans, inspections, and process verification activities.
  • Ensure effective management of nonconforming material, containment actions, escalation processes, and support customer and regulatory audits, leading site responses to findings.
  • Influence quality improvements across functions, evaluate the quality of information, challenge conflicting data, and champion a culture of continuous improvement, problem solving, and accountability.
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and a Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management and leadership, preferably in quality, manufacturing, or engineering functions.
Desired Characteristics & Experience
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Technical: Experience with quality management systems, root cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions, and knowledge of aviation quality systems and AS9100 is highly desirable; Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
