Our Sort Center operations represents a strategic connectivity to reach our vision. Our Site Leaders are responsible for all safety, budgetary, people development and operations objectives for an entire building.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own and deliver the operational budget for the whole SC, including safety, productivity, financial planning, labor planning, and operational goals
  • Provide strategic level/long‑term planning (3, 6, 12 months and 3Yr overview)
  • Guide building culture according to leadership principles
  • Set clear goals and expectations for Operations and Area Managers
  • Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold leaders accountable
  • Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the SC to meet and exceed business plan
  • Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and among the network
  • Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Site Leaders/General Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives, as well as providing needed support and resources for other network initiatives
A day in the life

You’ll be based at one of our operational sites. Spending lots of time on site will help you develop your team and collaborate on operational planning. This role has two sides. You’ll manage and motivate a team of leaders. At the same time, you’ll focus on long‑term objectives, including creating contingency plans to keep operations running and mitigate against disruptions and driving initiatives that boost quality, safety and productivity. You’ll be a source of accountability and a business‑wide champion of best practice.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • 3+ years of employee and performance management experience
  • 2+ years of strong operations management, proficient in data analysis
  • 5+ years operations management experience in manufacturing, production, distribution environment or related industry
  • Supervisory responsibility for a minimum of 100 hourly employees
  • Excel skills required
  • English proficient – 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
