Job summary

GEA Germany GmbH is seeking a Senior Strategic Buyer to join the procurement team in Mexico City. You will drive category strategies, manage RFQs, and lead supplier negotiations to ensure cost, quality, and timely delivery.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in procurement, international contract management, and fluency in English. Experience with SAP Ariba/SAP CP is a plus; you will partner with global suppliers to deliver strategic value.

Qualifications

- Educational Background: University, bachelor’s degree in engineering or Economics.
- Procurement or Supply chain Certification (optional).
- 10+ years of experience in procurement processes for Senior Strategic Buyer.
- International contract management and cost analysis expertise.
- Experience with corporate procurement implementation and working in complex organizations.
- Strong negotiation and supplier relationship skills.

Responsibilities

- Works with category managers and project procurement managers to implement category strategy.
- Adapt and implement catalogs and framework contracts at divisional/regional level.
- Run negotiations, manage RFQs, awarding decisions and supplier follow-up.
- Select suppliers in line with strategy; develop supplier base and identify new suppliers.
- Resolve supplier issues (quality, delivery, service) and monitor performance.
- Strive for automation and digitalization; improve tools and processes.
- Ensure cost, availability, innovation, and quality within sourcing plans.
