Ranger Technical Resources partners with a hospitality organization to build an in-house product engineering capability from the ground up. You will lead from architecture to delivery, hands-on review, and mentoring while shaping the tech strategy for multiple customer‑facing platforms.

You will drive AI-assisted development, establish engineering standards, and partner with Product and executives to align investments with business goals.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience building engineering orgs and digital products from the ground up.
• Principal or Staff-level depth in design of distributed systems and platforms.
• Hands-on in architecture, reviews, prototyping, and technical decision-making.
• Experience integrating digital products with enterprise systems and cloud-native services.

Responsabilidades

• Build and lead the organization’s internal product engineering capability, transitioning ownership from consulting partners.
• Define engineering vision, architecture, and roadmap across multiple platforms.

• Guide integration of modern digital products with enterprise platforms (Salesforce, Oracle Opera).

Our partner is a large, established hospitality organization with more than 10,000 hotel rooms and 15,000 employees, embarking on a companywide digital transformation. Historically, customer-facing technology has been delivered through consulting partners and third-party platforms. We're building our internal digital product engineering capability from the ground up to own and evolve the next generation of customer experiences.

As the technical counterpart to a senior Product executive, this leader will establish the engineering vision, architecture, cloud strategy, AI-enabled development practices, and technical foundations that support multiple customer-facing digital platforms. This is a rare opportunity to build a modern product engineering organization inside a business with significant scale, established brands, and executive commitment.

There is no mature software engineering organization to inherit. The ideal candidate combines the technical depth of a Principal Engineer with the leadership of a VP of Engineering, remaining hands-on with architecture, code reviews, prototyping, and engineering decisions while building the team, culture, and operating model from the ground up.

Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or an equivalent professional background.
• Proven experience building engineering organizations, digital products, or software platforms from the ground up within startup, scale-up, or enterprise transformation environments
• Principal or Staff-level technical depth designing complex distributed systems, modern software architectures, and customer-facing digital platforms
• Demonstrated success leading engineering organizations while remaining actively involved in architecture, code reviews, prototyping, and technical decision-making
• Experience integrating modern digital products with enterprise platforms, third-party systems, and cloud-native services
• Hands-on experience establishing engineering foundations, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security, and software delivery practices
• Practical experience incorporating AI-assisted development into engineering workflows while maintaining software quality, security, and delivery standards

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Build and lead the organization's internal product engineering capability, transitioning ownership from consulting partners to in-house teams
• Define the engineering vision, architecture, and technical roadmap supporting multiple customer-facing digital platforms
• Establish engineering standards, development practices, CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, observability, and software delivery processes
• Make key architectural decisions across applications, integrations, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and enterprise systems
• Lead the technical transition of consultant-built applications, ensuring maintainability, scalability, and long-term ownership
• Remain hands-on through architecture reviews, technical mentoring, code reviews, prototyping, and resolution of complex engineering challenges
• Establish AI-assisted development practices that improve engineering productivity while maintaining quality and security
• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering organization with a focus on technical excellence, talent density, and long-term growth
• Partner with Product, Executive Leadership, and business stakeholders to align engineering investments with strategic business objectives
