The SDE at Mphasis will hands-on design, build and ship production features for the Virtual C-Suite product. You will deliver high-quality, well-tested code independently and influence technical decisions within the team.

Location: Mexico City with a 3 days on-site, 2 remote schedule for a Full Time Employee (FTC) with benefits. The role covers backend services in Java/Spring Boot and Python components, plus potential React work in a fully autonomous Scrum team.

• Design, develop and maintain backend services in Java / Spring Boot.
• Build Python-based components that integrate Azure AI Foundry / LLM models.
• Develop React front-end features when required.
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Work with NoSQL databases and deploy via CI/CD pipelines to Kubernetes on Azure/AWS.
• Collaborate within an autonomous Scrum team to estimate and deliver roadmap items.

The SDE is a hands-on engineer who designs, builds and ships production features for the Virtual C-Suite product. This person delivers high-quality, well-tested code independently and contributes to technical decisions within the team.

The role requires 3 days on site, 2 remotely, mandatory. Location: Mexico City

Full Time Employee (FTC)+ benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services in Java / Spring Boot.
• Build Python-based components that integrate Azure AI Foundry / LLM models for content and conversation processing.
• Develop responsive front-end features in React where required.
• Write unit / integration tests and participate in code reviews to uphold engineering quality.
• Work with NoSQL / document databases and deploy via CI/CD pipelines to Kubernetes on Azure/AWS.
• Collaborate within the autonomous Scrum team to estimate, plan and deliver roadmap items.

Must-Have Skills

• Working Python for AI/LLM or backend services.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers and cloud (Azure or AWS).

Nice to Have

• React front-end experience.
• GenAI / LLM integration, prompt engineering, or RAG experience; Databricks exposure.
• Comfortable operating in a fully autonomous team that owns delivery end-to-end.
• Strong fundamentals in the relevant discipline and a good culture fit – collaborative, ownership-driven and outcome-focused.
• Able to work in a cloud-agnostic environment (Azure today, expanding to AWS).
• Hybrid working – 3 days per week from the Mexico City office, with emphasis on in-person collaboration during the early build phase.
• Clear communication and the ability to move fast without compromising engineering quality.
