Job summary

AspenTech in Mexico City seeks a Senior Software Developer for its Manufacturing and Supply Chain (MSC) Engineering group. You will design and deliver industrial software supporting planning, scheduling, optimization, production, and supply chain workflows.

As a senior engineer you will own features from design to validation, collaborate with product and architecture partners, mentor others, and help the team achieve reliable delivery and PI objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 5+ years of professional software development experience delivering enterprise or industrial software.
• Strong software development experience with C#/.NET or comparable object-oriented technologies; experience with APIs and relational databases.
• Demonstrated ability to design maintainable solutions, diagnose complex defects, and deliver high-quality production code.
• Experience with automated testing, code reviews, version control, and continuous integration practices.
• Ability to translate product requirements and customer workflows into technical designs and incremental deliverables.
• Experience collaborating across Product, Development, Quality Engineering, and Architecture roles.
• Strong communication, facilitation, technical writing, and problem-solving skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and support robust and scalable software capabilities across the MSC product suite.
• Own the technical delivery of features, including analysis, design, implementation, automated testing, documentation, and production support.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Management to refine features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and incremental delivery plans.
• Work with Agile Team Leads, System Architecture, developers, and Quality Engineering to manage technical dependencies, risks, and trade-offs.
• Participate actively in SAFe events, including PI Planning, backlog refinement, iteration planning, system demos, and Inspect and Adapt.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across the application stack and improve reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Champion engineering practices such as peer reviews, clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure design.
• Mentor developers, share product and technical knowledge, and contribute to consistent engineering patterns across the team.
• Develop working knowledge of customer workflows and translate domain needs into practical technical solutions.

As a senior member of a cross-functional Agile team, you will own features from technical design through validation, collaborate with product and architecture partners, guide less-experienced engineers, and help the team achieve reliable delivery and PI objectives.
