Littelfuse is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to independently design, implement, optimize, and govern complex security controls that protect enterprise systems, networks, applications, cloud services, data, and manufacturing operations. Serving as a senior subject-matter expert, the role handles highly complex and ambiguous technical assignments and partners with IT, Engineering, Compliance, Product Security, and business teams to embed security by design into new solutions and changes, assess technical and third-party risk, and improve the reliability and effectiveness of the global security control environment.

About Your Job:
  • Design, implement, configure, test, optimize, and manage the lifecycle of complex security technologies and controls across endpoint, identity, network, cloud, email, application, data, and manufacturing environments.
  • Partner with IT and business teams to embed security by design into complex projects, architecture decisions, technology implementations, integrations, and significant changes that span multiple systems or security domains.
  • Perform security architecture reviews, technical risk assessments, vulnerability reviews, and third‑party security assessments for complex or high‑risk solutions; make well‑supported risk‑based recommendations, challenge proposed designs where needed, and drive remediation to verified closure.
  • Define, govern, and continuously improve secure configuration baselines, technical standards, implementation guidance, operating procedures, and supporting evidence.
  • Drive engineering contributions to complex vulnerability and configuration‑risk remediation by validating exposure, prioritizing risk, coordinating remediation across system owners, and verifying closure through evidence and testing.
  • Act as a senior subject‑matter expert for assigned security domains; analyze emerging threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, and control capabilities, and develop practical solutions appropriate for a global manufacturing environment and OT/IT boundaries.
  • Collaborate with Security Operations on complex detection engineering, incident investigations, logging improvements, containment enhancements, and lessons learned that require durable technical control changes.
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to translate ambiguous policy, regulatory, customer, and audit requirements into scalable, measurable, and implementable technical controls.
  • Define technical health indicators and use telemetry, metrics, dashboards, automation, testing, and trend analysis to identify control drift or coverage gaps, measure remediation progress, and improve security effectiveness over time.
  • Represent Security Engineering as a senior technical contributor in major projects and contribute to customer security assessments, M&A technology integrations, and other initiatives that require advanced security engineering expertise.
AI and automation responsibilities
  • Apply generative AI and agentic AI responsibly to accelerate complex security analysis, control validation, documentation, detection content, vulnerability triage, and repetitive engineering workflows.
  • Design and implement reusable security automation and integrations using APIs, scripting, orchestration, and workflow platforms, with appropriate human oversight, logging, access control, testing, output validation, and rollback mechanisms.
  • Assess AI‑enabled solutions and workflows for prompt injection, data leakage, excessive access, model misuse, insecure integrations, supply‑chain risk, privacy considerations, and auditability before adoption.
  • Define and implement technical guardrails for AI‑enabled security workflows within assigned domains, including access controls, logging, human review, data classification, test cases, rollback plans, and output validation.
  • Validate AI‑generated outputs used in security engineering and clearly document assumptions, limitations, and verification steps so that generated content is not treated as trusted without appropriate review.
About You:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5-7+ years of progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity engineering, infrastructure security, cloud security, systems engineering, or a related technical role, including experience resolving complex technical problems across multiple systems or security domains.
  • Advanced working knowledge of security architecture and controls across identity and access, endpoints, networks, cloud platforms, operating systems, applications, data protection, and manufacturing or OT environments.
  • Demonstrated experience independently conducting complex security architecture reviews, technical risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, hardening, control implementation, and remediation workstreams with limited guidance.
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous business, risk, and compliance requirements into scalable and implementable technical controls, clear documentation, and practical risk‑based recommendations.
  • Hands‑on experience with standard security technologies such as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Experience using security telemetry, detection logic, dashboards, control‑health metrics, and evidence‑based testing to measure and improve security effectiveness.
  • Practical understanding of generative AI and agentic AI, secure AI usage, output validation, prompt injection, data leakage, excessive access, model misuse, and risks associated with AI‑enabled systems and integrations.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem‑solving skills, sound technical judgment, high attention to detail, and the ability to independently resolve highly complex or ambiguous technical assignments with limited guidance.
About You:
  • Experience in a global manufacturing or industrial environment, including awareness of OT/IT segmentation and operational reliability requirements.
  • Hands‑on exposure to Microsoft security technologies such as Entra ID, Defender, Intune, Purview or comparable security platforms.
  • Familiarity with cloud security, zero trust, secure configuration frameworks, vulnerability management, third‑party risk, and secure software or product development practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation in at least one language or platform, such as PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, orchestration, or workflow automation, including the development of reusable solutions and integrations.
  • Experience in a global manufacturing or industrial environment, including awareness of OT/IT segmentation, operational reliability, and security considerations for production environments.
Core competencies
  • Technical leadership: owns complex engineering outcomes, mentors less‑experienced colleagues, and converts risk and requirements into reliable, supportable controls.
  • Customer focus: balances security, usability, manufacturing continuity, and business outcomes.

#LI-KRL At Littelfuse, we support employee growth and development. Guided by our culture principles, our teams work together to deliver value for customers and make a positive impact in the communities where we operate. We are an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to grow and contribute. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, performance‑based incentives, flexible work arrangements, and development opportunities. Our humble roots date back to 1927, where, in the back of a garage on Chicago’s northside, our founder, Edward Sundt, developed a small, fast‑acting, protective fuse for use in sensitive test meters. Sundt wanted to call his new company producing these small fuses, “Little Fuse,” but wasn’t allowed to trademark two such common words. So, instead he went with the one‑word, misspelled “Littelfuse.” For more than 95 years, Littelfuse has pioneered innovative products that help empower a sustainable, connected, and safer world. With the ever‑evolving electrification and electronification of customer applications, our product technologies are closely linked to sustainable applications such as electric vehicles and EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy and energy storage, factory automation, power management and more. Throughout our history, our people have been the foundation of our success — and that remains true today. Now more than ever, our bright and talented people are a strategic advantage for the company. From the production line to the engineering lab, the office or distribution center, Littelfuse people are an important part of a diverse, talented team of the best and brightest in the industry. While Littelfuse has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, we still maintain a small‑company, entrepreneurial approach where your efforts will drive our culture, our business, and the overall success of the organization. No matter where you work or what you do, your contributions will make a difference at Littelfuse — everywhere, every day.

Littelfuse is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
