Littelfuse is seeking a Security Engineer to design, implement, optimize, and govern security controls that protect enterprise systems, networks, applications, cloud services, data, and manufacturing operations. Serving as a subject‑matter expert, the role leads complex workstreams and partners with IT, Engineering, Compliance, Product Security, and business teams to embed security by design into new solutions and changes, assess technical and third‑party risk, and improve the reliability and effectiveness of the global security control environment.
About Your Job:
- Design, implementation, configuration, testing, optimization, and lifecycle management of security technologies and controls across endpoint, identity, network, cloud, email, application, and data environments.
- Partner with IT and business teams to embed security by design into projects, architecture decisions, technology implementations, integrations, and significant changes.
- Perform security architecture reviews, technical risk assessments, vulnerability reviews, and third‑party security assessments; make risk‑based recommendations, challenge proposed designs where needed, and drive remediation to verified closure.
- Define, govern, and continuously improve secure configuration baselines, technical standards, implementation guidance, operating procedures, and supporting evidence.
- Contribute to vulnerability management by validating exposure, prioritizing risk, coordinating remediation, and verifying closure with infrastructure, application, and engineering teams.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for assigned security domains; analyze emerging threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, and control capabilities; recommend improvements appropriate for a global manufacturing environment and OT/IT boundaries.
- Provide technical expertise and collaborate with Security Operations on detection engineering, incident investigations, containment improvements, and lessons learned that require technical control changes.
- Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to translate policy, regulatory, customer, and audit requirements into effective and measurable technical controls.
- Define technical health indicators and use telemetry, metrics, automation, and trend analysis to monitor control health, identify gaps, reduce manual work, and report security posture and remediation progress.
- Represent Security Engineering in major projects and contribute to customer security assessments, M&A technology integrations, security awareness activities, and other initiatives that strengthen the overall security posture.
AI and automation responsibilities:
- Support the responsible application of generative AI and agentic AI to accelerate security analysis, control validation, documentation, detection content, vulnerability triage, and repetitive engineering workflows.
- Design and implement security automation using APIs, scripting, orchestration, and workflow platforms, with appropriate human oversight, logging, access control, testing, and rollback mechanisms.
- Assess AI-enabled solutions for security, privacy, data leakage, identity, model misuse, prompt injection, supply‑chain, and regulatory risks before adoption.
- Define and implement technical guardrails for enterprise AI use, including secure architecture patterns, data classification controls, monitoring, and responsible‑use requirements.
- Validate AI‑generated output and communicate limitations, assumptions, and risk clearly; never treat generated content as trusted without appropriate verification.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–5 years of progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity engineering, infrastructure security, cloud security, systems engineering, or a related technical role.
- Strong working knowledge of security architecture and controls across identity and access, endpoints, networks, cloud platforms, operating systems, applications, and data protection.
- Demonstrated experience independently conducting technical security reviews, risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, hardening, or control implementation.
- Proven ability to translate ambiguous business, risk, and compliance requirements into implementable technical controls and clear documentation.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation in at least one language or platform, such as PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, or workflow automation.
- Practical understanding of generative AI concepts, secure AI usage, output validation, and the risks associated with AI‑enabled systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in a global manufacturing or industrial environment, including awareness of OT/IT segmentation and operational reliability requirements.
- Hands‑on exposure to Microsoft security technologies such as Entra ID, Purview, Intune, or comparable security platforms.
- Hands‑on experience with standard security technologies such as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM).
- Familiarity with cloud security, zero trust, secure configuration frameworks, vulnerability management, third‑party risk, and secure software or product development practices.
- Experience with AI security assessment, secure prompt and agent design, model or application threat modeling, or responsible AI governance.
- Relevant certification such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security, CC, SSCP, GSEC, or equivalent.
Core competencies:
- Technical leadership: owns engineering outcomes and converts risk and requirements into reliable, supportable controls.
- Customer focus: balances security, usability, manufacturing continuity, and business outcomes.
- Ownership: follows findings through remediation and verifies that controls work as intended.
- Collaboration: builds effective relationships across IT, Security, Compliance, Engineering, vendors, and business teams.
- Continuous improvement: uses data, automation, AI, and lessons learned to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
What success looks like:
- Security controls are implemented consistently, documented clearly, monitored effectively, and aligned with business risk.
- New technologies, vendors and changes receive timely security review, with actionable findings and clear ownership for remediation.
- Vulnerabilities and configuration gaps are prioritized by risk and closed within agreed timelines.
- Automation and AI reduce repetitive effort without weakening governance, control quality, privacy, or accountability.

Our humble roots date back to 1927, where, in the back of a garage on Chicago’s northside, our founder, Edward Sundt, developed a small, fast‑acting, protective fuse for use in sensitive test meters. Sundt wanted to call his new company producing these small fuses, “Little Fuse,” but wasn’t allowed to trademark two such common words. So, instead he went with the one‑word, misspelled “Littelfuse.”
For more than 95 years, Littelfuse has pioneered innovative products that help empower a sustainable, connected, and safer world.
With the ever‑evolving electrification and electronification of customer applications, our product technologies are closely linked to sustainable applications such as electric vehicles and EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy and energy storage, factory automation, power management and more.
Throughout our history, our people have been the foundation of our success — and that remains true today.
Now more than ever, our bright and talented people are a strategic advantage for the company.
From the production line to the engineering lab, the office or distribution center, Littelfuse people are an important part of a diverse, talented team of the best and brightest in the industry.
While Littelfuse has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, we still maintain a small‑company, entrepreneurial approach where your efforts will drive our culture, our business, and the overall success of the organization.
No matter where you work or what you do, your contributions will make a difference at Littelfuse — everywhere, every day.
