Job summary

Ford is seeking a Senior Engineer, Occupational Safety, who will act as the site health and safety expert. You will develop innovative solutions to hazard control, safety systems, and compliance, applying SOS and plant‑wide safety processes.

The role leads safety projects, conducts inspections and risk assessments, investigates incidents, and delivers training. You will interface with regulators and cross‑functional teams to drive continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• 1 year safety experience with a Master’s; or 2 years with a Bachelor’s.
• Certified Safety Professional or similar certification preferred.
• Hazard identification, risk assessment, machine safety, LOTO, PPE and industrial hygiene knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Guides team in implementing plant-wide safety processes including safety operating system and safety training orientations.
• Participates in inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Leads safety and security projects partnering with external auditors and cross-functional leaders.
• Investigates accidents and near misses and develops corrective actions.
• Designs training programs to prevent injuries and hazards.
