Job summary

Randstad México is seeking a Senior Retail Buyer - / Head of Buying to lead opportunistic buying for our Mexico Buying Office. You will hunt domestic and international markets for brand-name closeouts, negotiate favorable terms, and manage high-volume Open to Buy budgets weekly while mentoring a team of Merchandise Assistants.

You will balance price, quality, fashion, and brand, analyze trends, and devise weekly market strategies to maximize gross margins.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of solid experience as a Buyer within corporate Retail environments (Apparel, Home Goods, or Accessories preferred).
• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced buying environments balancing opportunistic volume buys vs. incentive purchases.
• Sharp analytical skills with experience managing OTB budgets, margins, and retail math.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with excellent presentation skills for global teams.

Responsibilities

• Market Hunting: identify and evaluate opportunistic buys from top-tier brands.
• Masterful Negotiation to balance price, quality, fashion and brand on every transaction.
• OTB & Volume Management by handling high-volume budgets and multiple purchase orders weekly.
• Vendor Ecosystem: build long-term relationships with new and existing vendors for surplus stock.
• Business & Strategy Analysis: analyze product mixes, monitor competitor prices, inform weekly market strategies.
• Team Leadership: mentor Merchandise Assistants to ensure smooth execution and PO integrity.
