Job summary

APTIM seeks a Quality Control Manager for a NAVFAC fuels construction project on Diego Garcia. You will oversee the QC program, coordinate with QC specialists, inspectors, and consultants to ensure compliance with contract requirements and safety standards.

You will work alongside the project team, read technical documents, and conduct daily reporting in a remote field environment for about one year with rotations.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year accredited college program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction or Building Science.
• Minimum 5 years in supervisory QC/Construction roles on large contracts with major trades.
• At least 5 years as Quality Control Manager.
• Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 and hazard safety/sustainability.
• Ability to read project plans and technical documents.
• Current Construction Quality Management certification.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Willingness to live and work on Diego Garcia for ~1 year with rotations.

Responsibilities

• Manages the QC Program and coordinates the Three Phases of Control and documentation.
• Coordinate daily with QC Specialists to ensure material/work inspection and compliance.
• Manage Special Inspectors of Record, Commissioning Agent, and consultants to meet contract requirements.
• Coordinate daily with project superintendent and subcontractors for planning and compliance.
• Maintain daily report documentation and lead safety-related meetings and problem resolution.
