Amentum seeks an Assistant Operator in Responsible Charge (AORC) to support a U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia.

The role involves assisting in operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant, ensuring water quality and safety, and supporting laboratory testing and emergency response. Qualified candidates will hold Level II Treatment and Distribution Operator certifications, English proficiency, and the ability to obtain visas for BIOT.

Formación

  • Must possess the necessary education, experience, training, and other qualification requirements for Level II Treatment and Level II Distribution operator certifications.
  • Must possess a current/valid operator's certification and maintain through professional development per CNIC guidelines.
  • English reading, speaking, and comprehension to perform contract requirements and follow procedures.
  • Ability to obtain country-specific visas as per guidelines.
  • Must pass medical, security, and deployment requirements for remote assignment.

Responsabilidades

  • Assist in operating the water treatment plant to produce clean and safe drinking water.
  • Assist in operating and maintaining the water treatment plant, ensuring compliance with state and federal standards.
  • Assist in monitoring equipment processes and performing routine maintenance; keep detailed records.
  • Respond to emergencies and take appropriate action to maintain water supply.
  • Assist in laboratory testing and analysis to measure pH, chlorine, turbidity, and other parameters.
  • Maintain safety protocols and proper handling of chemicals.

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Assistant Operator in Responsible Charge (AORC) to support unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the operation of the water treatment lant to produce clean and safe drinking water.
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant, ensuring that the water produced meets state and federal standards.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling equipment processes, performing regular maintenance, and keeping detailed records.
  • Assist in operating the water treatment plant to produce clean and safe drinking water.
  • Assist in the monitoring and control of equipment and processes, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
  • Assist in maintaining proper water levels in storage tanks.
  • Assist with the performance of routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment and machinery.
  • Assist with the collection and analysis of water samples to ensure that the water meets state and federal standards.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of operations, maintenance, and testing results.
  • Respond to emergencies, such as power outages or equipment failures, and take appropriate action to maintain water supply.
  • Assist in the performance of laboratory testing and analysis to measure pH, chlorine levels, turbidity, and other parameters.
  • Assist in ensuring that all safety protocols are followed, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of chemicals.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess the necessary education, experience, training, and other qualificationrequirements for certification as a Level II Treatment and Level II Distributionoperator.
  • Must possess a current/validoperator's certification and maintain this certification through completion ofprofessional development courses per the requirements specified in CNIC M5090.1A.
  • Employees must read, speak, and comprehend English to the extent that they can perform the contract requirements and comply with installation emergency procedures.
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
  • Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
  • Valid country driver's license.

Working Environment

This position is located on Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a remote overseas location supporting U.S. Government operations. Employees may work in office, industrial, warehouse, port, airfield, and outdoor environments and may be exposed to high temperatures, humidity, inclement weather, noise, dust, and uneven terrain. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on operational requirements.

Physical Requirements

Requirements may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Must be able to meet all medical, security, and deployment requirements associated with assignment to a remote overseas location.
