A global professional services company is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Tijuana to oversee project delivery from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in project management, be fluent in English and Spanish, and possess knowledge in construction-related tools and quality control processes. This role requires strong leadership and the ability to maintain client relationships while ensuring successful project outcomes.

Formación

Responsibilities
  • The Senior Project Manager will take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery to ensure that client objectives are met through the delivery of an effective service.
  • Interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Manage project schedule and budgets and oversee general contractors and other directly contracted vendors and consultants.
  • Review construction, assess and approve work-in-place, and approve capital expenditure spends, including revision of cost estimates prepared by contractors and client colleagues.
  • Plan, organize, schedule, direct and control the delivery of the project to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years experience as a project manager.
  • Sector experience in Industrial, manufacture, hospitality/interiors, retail.
  • Experience in commissioning.
  • Experience in LEED projects is a plus.
  • Engineering or architectural degree with chartered status.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish at working level to lead meetings, prepare reports and written communication, do presentations and talk to clients and suppliers.
  • PMI or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office tools; knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM is a plus.
  • Skills and Qualifications:
  • Run and lead client and other required meetings, presenting updates to the client at all project stages.
  • Stakeholder management: lead local client and report to global team.
  • Manage risks and maintain the risk register; conduct risk workshops as needed.
  • Identify factors that influence construction costs and monitor/report on this data.
  • Issue reports as agreed with client.
  • Field-level quality control for civil works and related processes.
  • Support design management and review to identify construction methods opportunities.
  • Support engineering decisions related to project cost and budget during design-build changes.
  • Review requests for payment.
  • Advocate on the client’s behalf during disputes, modifications, or change orders.
  • Analyze, track and manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
  • Track equipment to ensure alignment with the project schedule.
  • Lead value engineering sessions as required.
  • Oversee the transfer of building operations to the client including close-out documentation and warranties.
  • Be client-facing, collaborative, able to develop strong relationships, and confidently present to clients and stakeholders.
  • Be assertive and detail-oriented to identify issues early and raise them for resolution.
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering relevant projects.
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets, report writing and presentations.
  • Management experience with ability to lead teams and manage revenue, resources and priorities to meet client expectations.
  • Strong focus on quality and quality control actions.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Health and Environmental Safety in construction.
  • Effective verbal and written communication; self-starter and team player with leadership qualities.
