Placements24 is representing a prominent organization in Guadalajara, Jalisco, seeking a results-driven Gerente de Compras to lead the procurement function. This strategic role covers the full procurement lifecycle—from needs identification and supplier selection to contract negotiations and vendor performance management.

The ideal candidate will have a robust procurement background, strong negotiation and leadership skills, and a solid understanding of supply chain dynamics.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior procurement or purchasing role.
• Proven success in negotiating complex contracts and achieving cost savings.
• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, market analysis, and supply chain management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of strategic procurement initiatives.
• Oversee all aspects of the purchasing process, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier relationship management.
• Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for cost reduction and value enhancement.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Manage and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies within the supply chain.
• Evaluate supplier performance and implement improvement plans where necessary.
• Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, savings, and KPIs to senior management.
• Drive innovation in procurement processes and technologies.
