About the Role: The Senior Oracle Application Database Administrator will provide management and maintenance of the Oracle E-Business Suite Application and databases and its integrated applications such as Vertex O Series, Oracle Agile, SOA, SaaS Applications, and Custom applications and its databases such as Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB environments. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience with managing and supporting Oracle EBS databases/applications in Exadata/Unix environments and a total of 15+ years in IT. The candidate should be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills and work seamlessly in a team environment as well as independently, and must be flexible to provide support for urgent database issues as needed; this role may occasionally require availability outside regular business hours.

Responsibilities:

Database Management:

Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions.
Troubleshoot database issues and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
Manage database security, including user access control and data encryption.
Perform database backups and recovery procedures.
Manage database storage and capacity planning.
Implement and maintain database replication and failover mechanisms.
Manage database patching and upgrades.

Performance Tuning:

Analyze database performance and identify areas for improvement.
Optimize database queries and indexes.
Implement and maintain database monitoring tools.

Collaboration and Leadership:

Work closely with application developers to understand their needs and ensure that the database systems meet their requirements.
Lead and mentor junior DBAs.
Participate in project planning and implementation.
Document database configurations and procedures.

Other Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain database documentation.
Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle database technologies and best practices.
Participate in the development and implementation of new database features and applications.
Provide technical support to users of the database systems.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that the database systems are integrated with other systems.
Support scheduled monthly and quarterly close activities, including routine tasks and quarter-end backup maintenance.
Audit the current environments, and provide capacity planning, and best practices for the future production/development/test environments, which may include establishing new standards and procedures.
Provide Level-1 to Level-3 support to business users and resolve the issue within the defined SLA.

Qualifications & Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience working in Oracle technologies and 15+ years of IT experience.
Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies.
Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases.
Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
Experience in Oracle Database, Oracle Applications R12, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL database.
Experience in installation, configuration, upgrading, administrating, monitoring, troubleshooting, cloning, Patching, Backup, and restoring of Oracle EBS. Responsible for reviewing applications/databases, identifying performance bottlenecks, and fixing them.
Experience in all routine DBA tasks, including health checks, troubleshooting issues, and installations.
Experience in R12.2.x Configurators, JVM’s, archiving, purging, and database reorganization.
Excellent knowledge of Oracle database 19c/E-Business suite R12.2.x architecture and its components, OEM 13c and Fusion Middleware applications.
Excellent knowledge of implementing data warehouse environments, ETL processes, and integrations.
Good knowledge on tools like Vertex, Noetix, More4Apps, APIWizard, GLWand, Golden Gate, Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Interface Cloud and Streaming.
Good knowledge on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and AWS Cloud environments.
Good knowledge of Automation of activities using Python, Perl, Shell Scripts, PLSQL, and SQL
Knowledge of traces, tkprof and find poorly performing SQL, fine-tune the SQL and database, and rewrite poorly performing SQL statements.
Knowledge of Oracle database wait events, Database, and Application parameters.
Proficient in conveying technical and business information clearly
