Bluelight is seeking a senior backend-focused software engineer in a fast-paced consultancy environment. You will develop high-quality applications with Node.js/TypeScript, building low-latency AWS-based APIs, and work across full-stack as needed.

You will join a team delivering scalable, secure multi-tenant solutions for diverse clients, with emphasis on testing, CI/CD, and collaboration across US business hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments.
• Comfortable writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations (e.g., node-postgres, node-pg-migrate).
• Professional experience with React.
• Strong testing practices including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode testing.
• Experience with AI coding assistants as part of daily development.
• CI/CD application creation and maintenance skills.
• Solid understanding of full stack development, with ability to contribute to frontend when needed.
• Background with large, complex systems.
• Ability to overlap US business hours.
• Bachelor's degree required.
