Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Specialized Automation and Control Technician for our Ciudad Juárez plant. You will apply expertise in PLC programming and vision systems to improve manufacturing lines, with a focus on traceability, labeling, and industrial networking.

You will collaborate with maintenance, quality, and process engineering teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure safety, and implement advanced automation solutions on site in Mexico.

Qualifications

• Mechatronics or electronics engineering degree and related field.
• 10+ years in manufacturing with automated processes.
• Proven PLC programming and commissioning experience.
• Track record of integrating machine vision and industrial robots.
• Onsite work requirement (#LI-Onsite)

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain 2D traceability systems (DataMatrix / QR) and RFID tags; integrate with databases.
• Configure and maintain label-printing systems.
• Design and maintain industrial networks: PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, PROFIBUS; diagnose faults.
• Develop and troubleshoot programmable safety controllers; design safety systems per standards.
• Document architecture, electrical schematics, control logic, pneumatic diagrams, and communication protocols.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, production, and process-engineering teams on CiP.
• Train operations and maintenance personnel on new solutions and best practices.
• Communicate business issues or opportunities to next management level
• Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.
